It actually does give me a subtle mental boost and helps keep me focused. I like to take it about an hour or two before I work out to increase blood flow. The days I take it I feel that my energy level is higher and I don't need that afternoon nap. I have taken this with food and without food and I haven't noticed a difference. It does not upset my stomach. Some pills leave a bad taste in your mouth and I haven't noticed anything with this one.
