Excellent little DVD player. Does exactly what I want it to do without problems. For the money invested, a fantastic product. The remote, DVD player and my TV work perfect together.

I expected some easy use of buttons in case I misplaced the remote, or the batteries ran low. They are on the top and not visible. You need to look first before you set it up.

I have had 2 in the past year , The first one worked for a day and quit working, I had to return and exchanged for another one of the same kind and it no longer works they just stop working

I am extremely happy with this DVD player. It was sooooo easy to set up and before I knew it I was watching DVDs on my new TV and player. It is easy and simply perfect for me! Couldn't be happier.

The Sony DVD has a very sleek and modern design. I wish the cords they sent were longer but I put it beside my TV and it worked fine. The HDM1 cord does not come for about a week. It is pretty simple to hook up and works really good; just read the directions!

NO info readout on player, barely visible ON light, worst remote & menus I have owned at least 8 DVD players from makers SONY, Panasonic, Philips and Magnavox and this SONY 510 is the only one I have ever had to return. The compact size and good picture output are greatly overshadowed by its many flaws: The tiny green pilot "ON" light is barely visible from the front - only from the top. There is no digital display on the player showing time, chapter or anything else. The screen setup menu is abysmal - confusing and very hard to use. The remote is not intuitive and hard to use. Complete disappointment. Terrible design. Avoid this device.

The video quality is good. All of a sudden it started to just freeze throughout watching movies. We had to lightly tap it or reboot it to activate the movie again then advance to where we left off, only to have it freeze again. Added another 45 minutes to the movie. Incredibly frustrating. We don't watch that many movies, so it has definitely not been over used. Don't think it is high quality at all. My previous old DVD player lasted 10 years. Maybe they just make them to break.

Easy to install. We have used this DVD player 5 times and have already had trouble with it. it takes forever to load, says there's a disc error, we have to take the disc out, blow into the DVD player(like it's 1985 all over again), and try it again. It's small and doesn't take up any room. When it was working right it worked great but just 5 uses and having trouble I wouldn't buy it again or recommend it.

I've had it for about 3 years, use only occasionally for exercise DVDs or DVDs of movies and such from the library. It's fine for both DVDs and CDs, though. The remote is a bit clumsy to operate and could be better designed and simplified, but I'm spoiled by Roku remotes so that's maybe not realistic. I'm actually ordering a second one for a different area. Hard to eat the quality for the money for basic operations.

This dvd player doesn’t even deserve one star. I tried 3 different players in one day. The first one wouldn’t even turn on, the second one wouldn’t read disc (you could hear it faintly turning but did nothing), the third I couldn’t get it to open to put a disk in. I burned through a half tank of gas going back-and-forth to the store so many times for this junk. My previous sony player didn’t even last a year with light use. They definitly aren’t what they use to be.
