I have 2 Sony players. one is a 5 disk cd/dvd player and the new one is a single disk player. The remote is exactly the same, creating a big problem. My fault for not realizing it would be a problem, I will fix the problem by getting a different brand of 1 disk dvd payer..

I found this one after my LG went out. I've had it for a week and I have no complaints. One feature I really like is that it will turn off by itself after some time (not sure how long it has to sit there before it does) when the DVD has gone back to the menu section. Only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is bc it did not come with an HDMI cord. It would be nice for DVD players to start coming with those. Thanks Sony

This is the second identical Sony HDMI-510 DVD player I have bought. My previous one is three years old and still working great. My new one is for another room. I rarely use it for DVDs (the HDMI port is a plus for video) but often use it for music CDs (I have a huge collection). Like all Sony products, this is well made. My only complaint (minor) is the slow responsiveness of the manual controls -- the remote works much better.

Because my TV is Roku Smart TV 32S327-CA, all picture-settings and volume-control can be done only from TV's remote control. DVD 's remote control can load disk, play it, advance, rewind, eject, but cannot siwitch on/off tv and cannot control volume. TV inputs and Menu are also not functional on DVD-remote. I use my own HDMI cable, not provided with DVD player (only RCA cables were included in the package)

Works great. Remote control is just like my old Sony remote controller. I had to get this because I got a new TV that only had an HDMI connection (no RCA colored connectors). My old Sony DVD player only had RCA connectors. This one has both options.

For me, the buttons are slow to respond (push them multiple times because you are not sure if anything is happening, open/close for example) and no LED display to indicate “action” of the player (play, open, load, etc). Even the power on indicator is difficult to see unless you are right next to the player. Makes it difficult to use remote.

Compact design with nice picture on my tv. HDMI and RCA connection. Smart design remote control. Things to consider... does not have any display on the front of player as you might expect a clock, mode or counter? Does NOT come with HDMI connector. Have the evening planned... dvd from library, cold drink, gonna plug in the new player and sit back. NOPE my tv is HDMI connection and no cable included so get ready for that. Overall well worth $40 $18 cable.

Quick delivery from Walmart's. Easy to install and setup. So far no issues or problems. It only has 1 HDMI port. And no ports for upgrade with latest soundbar. I only had DVD Player for about 10 days. So still to early on durability. But currently would recommend based on time period so far.

I've have a lot of Sony products in the past, but this one gets me. I bought brand new dvds and was so excited to watch them finally. Well, they skipped, froze and would not play.So I tried cleaning a new machine, still didn't solve the issue. So I will try a cleaning kit, see if that fixes it. If not, it'll be in the garbage.

I had to give this DVD player a less than perfect rating because the second time we tried to use it, it started throwing “disc errors”. Fortunately, using compressed air in the unit removed whatever microscopic particle was there %26 it started working again.
