The dvd player is ok. However the Walking Dead series sucks. Half the DVDs skip and freeze making it unwatchable and frustrating. Fear The Walking Dead is excellent.

I've had this player for a couple of years now and I have only one real complaint. This complaint may sound trivial but if you are like me and enjoy taking a look at details in films by using freeze frame and frame by frame then this design flaw (IMHO) will annoy you too. I've never had a video player (even my first VHS in the 80's) that you couldn't hold down the forward or reverse frame by frame button and and watch the frames tick by. Well... on this 21st century DVD, you have to manually push the buttons 20, 30, 40 times to find the frame you're looking for! RIDICULOUS!!! Otherwise.... this is a great little unit!!

Worked great in the beginning, had it for about 1 1/2 years then it started turning on and off by itself. If playing a dvd, it would just stop and turn off on it's own. We didn't play very many dvd's on this one, so not sure what the problem is, but would not recommend this unit.

I had to give this DVD player a less than perfect rating because the second time we tried to use it, it started throwing “disc errors”. Fortunately, using compressed air in the unit removed whatever microscopic particle was there %26 it started working again.

This little DVD player works perfectly. I'm always amazed at the nit picking reviews on an inexpensive item. If you want all the bells and whistles just go ahead and put $2 or 3 hundred more and get you a blueray player(bet money it won't work as good as this little player.# Took all of about five minutes to plug in the power cord and HDMI cable and program the remote to also control my Samsung tv. I have used the player for about 8 hours a day for the first three days after purchasing and it works flawlessly. Near HD quality picture #with HDMI cable) and great Dolby sound. If you want ease of use and an excellent inexpensive dvd player, this is a great buy. I'm very, very pleased with my purchase.

I bought this dvd along with the 32" rca tv for my bedroom. I don't have cable so it's just to watch movies at bedtime. I am really happy with both, very easy to set up even without instructions. Good value for the price, I got both tv and dvd player for under $300.00. Good products and fast delivery.

Bought a brand new 4 season disc set at same time as player. The player only made it through 2 seasons before it stopped reading any discs. What garbage! I remember when Sony dvd players lasted 10yrs or more, now they don't even last through 10 brand new discs.

Most reviews that I could find were pretty good. Using an HDMI cable it was super easy to hook up. But from the first use, the scenes woud tend to freeze up. I could fast forward for a few seconds and it would once again play normally; assumed it must have been a scratched disk. Then it happened on the 2nd dvd, and again on the 3rd. Finally on the 4th use it froze and quit all together. Couldn't even get the unit to power down via the remote or the front panel button. Finally unplugged it. After plugging it back in, it would not power-up, eject the dvd or anything else. Finally had to unplug again and take the unit apart to retrieve my dvd. Another annoyance was that the remote only seemed to work about half the time. I assume that was also a symptom of the faulty controls in general. It was a shame, because it was very reasonably priced the upscaling produced a GREAT picture.

This is a great little dvd player for the price. Easy to set up right out of the box. We were watching a dvd within 15 minutes (maybe even less). Had to buy a HDMI cable which cost another $20+ bucks. Would have paid more for the unit if the cable was included. Overall very happy with purchase.

Compact design with nice picture on my tv. HDMI and RCA connection. Smart design remote control. Things to consider... does not have any display on the front of player as you might expect a clock, mode or counter? Does NOT come with HDMI connector. Have the evening planned... dvd from library, cold drink, gonna plug in the new player and sit back. NOPE my tv is HDMI connection and no cable included so get ready for that. Overall well worth $40 $18 cable.
