This was easy to set up (to replace a friend's dead DVD player) and use and merged well with her Sony HD TV. It should come with its own HDMI cable and add the $10, but again this unit is well worth the money and more. They should stock them in the stores too !

We haven't had this unit very long so its hard to say how long it will last. Si far it has performed well and we are happy to have purchased it. It is used daily and hasn't had any problems so far. Hookup is what you would expect with no real short comings.

My husband and I purchased this for our 2 year old son's room. It is perfect to play all his DVDs! This DVD Player does comes with a remote. The remote is universal meaning, you can program this remote to control your tv as well. When your watching and decide to turn off the DVD Player, when you turn it back on it will pick up EXACTLY where you left off. This is a great buy! Does NOT come with HDMI cord!

It plays wonderfully well, but the machine will slide as you put in a CD if you do not hold it in place on the stand. No problems at all with this machine for our Smart tv. We have used it on a routine basis lately and no problems in the least with it. I would recommend it to anyone in need of such a player. Great price and value in my opinion.

My DVD player stopped working so I was going to take it to repair shop but I looked on line at Walmart to see what a new one would cost. Boy was I supprised. They had this Sony player on sale under $40 and two day delivery. Wow. It works great and the delivery was on time. I already had the HDMI cord so I hooked it up and used it right away. Great picture and sound. Its slim so it fit under the TV and was out of the way. Great Buy!

Bought for my 84 year old mother who watches DVDs occasionally and didn't want anything complicated. This DVD player connected to the Smart tv and plays movies just fine. Remote is small, but then again, the player is small and lightweight. Came with batteries too. If you are looking for something simple and affordable, this is the one.

The HDMI is definitely better than the old coaxial cables. One plug from the player to the TV and the picture is Much sharper than it was with the old coaxial DVD player. Some of my DVDs are full screen on my TV screen for the first time. Like it a lot!
