I've always been a fan of Ben's rice microwave pouches, but because it only comes in a family size, its not practical to use for a meal for one. The packaging for the Bens Original Rice Cup has easy to read instructions and an easy to see fill line on the inside. 3 1/2 minutes for foolproof rice. Unfortunately, it wasn't very tasty. The rice was a weird, overcooked texture, and despite the amount of flavor powder that was in the cup, it tasted bland. Overall, it was an easy experience that resulted in a mediocre meal. If I'm ever looking for a single serve instant rice, I will skip this one every time. I have no interest in trying the other flavors, but I haven't sworn off the brand altogether. It was very easy to prepare, we only needed to add water and then microwave (in the cup that it comes in). The texture of the rice was impressive for being so quick to prepare and we felt that it was very tender. The flavor was somewhat similar to chicken noodle soup, I think due to the addition of chicken broth. We also appreciated that the ingredient list wasn't really long and included a lot of natural ingredients like parsley and carrot. This would be a really easy side to prepare for dinner and tasty too. Overall, we really liked this and would repurchase it in the future! It tastes really good, my only thing that made me deduce a star is that I wish it came with some sort of protein. I had it with some chicken and it was such a delicious lunch. It also is the perfect portion of rice in my opinion. I could definitely see myself buying this on a regular basis.

It's very quick to make just add water to the fill line and pop it in the microwave for 3.5 minutes then let it cool for 2 minutes and enjoy! You can taste the chicken flavor really good! Definitely recommend!

Upon first taste I can taste the herby chicken flavor, but as I kept on eating I was left with a weird aftertaste on the back of my palate. Overall good but not a fan of the aftertaste.
