The effective sleep surface is only the middle 2/3rds of the matress. The outside 1/3 slopes downward, and wants to roll a back sleeper off the side.

Firm and comfortable so you feel supported but with a little plushy give. I love the cooling topper, which makes it great for snuggling in winter and staying cool in summer.

This is the only mattress I’ll buy. Bought one for every bedroom in my home. Whenever a guest stays over they always ask me what brand of mattress i have.

We compared this Beautyrest Black series 3 in a medium firmness to several competitors products, and kept coming back to this mattress. It's a perfect middle of the road where its not too firm, and not too soft. It still has the innerspring coils, and about a 3" pillow-top but also isn't what they classify as one of the new hybrid models. I sleep on the warm side, and so far I don't wake up overheating in the middle of the night. So the combined composition of materials used seem to provide enough ventilation to move the heat away from My body. The remainder of the test will come down the road in several months, after the mattress breaks in. But for stepping into a "new" mattress in the mid-Summer months, it has been a good overall purchase to date. I would recommend You considering taking a look at the Beautyrest Black models, if Your in the market for a quality mattress for more than just a couple of years.

Very comfortable and soft yet has enough support where I am not sinking into it . Feels like a luxury Hotel mattress . You definitely sleep on top of the mattress but supports the hips and shoulders with the latex

I love my beauty, rest black, plush pillow, top mattress. It’s the best mattress I’ve ever slept on, and I’ve gotten the best night sleep since I’ve received it. It is amazing highly recommend to anybody.

Comfortable and supportive. My last Beautyrest mattress lasted 20 years. Literally. This time I tried a different brand. It didn't compare. I returned it and bought another Beautyrest - Black series 3 Medium Pillowtop. It's perfect. So comfortable!!

I realize there is a lot of stitching that goes into these mattresses but I was very upset that there was multiple spot where the stitching was coming apart right out of the plastic. Only reason for a less than perfect score. With the mattress being that expensive, you'd think it would be made with quality.

DONT WASTE ALL THAT MONEY!! We DID %26 REGRET IT TERRIBLY. Thought eveness of mattress surface would last longer since it cost so much more…WRONG! you will have indents %26 uncomfortable give in a year and if youre alone one night %26 sleep in the center you will roll into the dip on either side where 2 usually sleep. Buy cheaper so you can replace sooner than having to wait longer to for $3,000 worth on a mattress which dipped at year one, now lacks in needed support, BUT JUST NEVER ENOUGH to come under warranty replacement bcs measurements of indent are done by sight only but it gives now so much more when you lay on it!! PS we're 2 ordinary size adults below 175 %26 150 lbs.

I am not pleased with this mattress. We originally ordered the firm which had no give at all very different from the showroom model , we found it to be very uncomfortable. After 6 weeks we switched it out for the medium. Still there was no contouring support to the back - giving me pain which I did not have with my old mattress. After several weeks of waking each morning with tension we ordered a 3" memory foam topper. This solved the morning back stiffness. I am disappointed in Beautyrest Black mattress. For the high price point I expected much better.
