Generator

We purchased this item a few months ago & had the opportunity to use it last month. It was easy to use. We were able to have power in our home to the critical areas for a few hours until our service was turned back on. Very happy with the product!

New Gen Set

Hurricane season coming soon here in Central Florida. Hope to use this with a 50amp switch I just had installed by an electrician. Was easy to assemble and started right on que. Looking forward to not being in the dark and having the refrigerator and water well up and running during the next for certain storm. Also, can't beat the price point vs a whole house gen set that can run upwards of 20K.

Great features this generator is built solid.

I bought this generator a month ago because we live in south west Louisiana and have our share of storms.Researched many different types of portable generators and found the Westinghouse generator to be the best option for us.The TFC option is also a great idea for home owners who have LPG.Opened the box but the wheels on added the oil and hooked up the battery and propane and it started running on first try.Have not needed it since we bought it but I think we will have back up power when we need it.

So far, so good . . .

Assembly was fast and easy. It even includes the tools I needed to assemble the wheels. I am waiting on my 50 amp power cord to use on my home trial run. Unit is heavy of course, but with the handle, I had no trouble rolling it around. Only thing that is negative in my mind is the required every 100 hours of use of checking the valve clearance.

Nice generator, but could be improved

Haven't used it much yet, but seems like a solid quality generator & the low THD level is a big plus. On the downside, the installed carbon monoxide shutoff appears to be both a nice benefit & a potential failure. There doesn't seem to be a simple way to bi-pass/modify the CO sensor if it fails or when using in an enclosure. An extended wire harness could be useful to relocate the monitor in some cases & a way to bi-pass it all together is also important. Most generators of this type are typically purchased for emergency situations. If the CO sensor has any type of fault or malfunction, it deems the generator worthless & unreliable.

BEST GENERATOR VALUE IN THIS POWER RANGE

Quick assembly, love the exhaust port location. Started right up and ran smooth on natural gas, needed this size to get the 9500 watts to run 3.5-ton AC House across the street saw the generator and ordered one. Quality product, easy to move around.

SOLID MACHINE

I live on the Atlantic Coast in Florida so power outages during storms are the norm. I currently have a 30 amp whole house plug with a interlock that I upgraded to a 50 amp. I also upgraded from a CAT RP5500 30 amp to a 50 amp Westinghouse Tri fuel 14500/11500. I was hesitant at first because everyone was pushing Duramax duel fuel. After several days of research and comparisons I decided on the Westinghouse. So far I am completely satisfied. The quality and finish on the Westinghouse is top notch. And with the larger gas tank and the tri fuel availability puts it a notch above the competition. It is very sturdy yet still easy to handle for this size generator. The remote works as stated and the included battery tender for the electric start is a win win. Thanks Westinghouse. See ya when the power goes out....!!

Powerful

Purchased this after an electrician put a 50 amp plug outside of our house to be able to use one outside cord to operate the important things in my house in case of power outages due to hurricanes or severe storms. This is a powerful machine with three choices of fuel source. We've tested it out and are very pleased with it's performance. Great option for small to medium size homes.

Well Written Instructions

I unpacked my new generator yesterday and wanted to mention how clear / easy to follow the user manual is. The manual is divided into several chapters. The “Assembly” chapter guided me step by step through the process with clear diagrams and instructions. The “Operation” chapter is also very easy to understand. Since this is a Tri-Fuel, it outlined the steps for each option in a clear approach as well. In addition to the manual – there are step by step stickers on the unit itself that serve as quick reminders. When I looked at the oil fill location – I realized that I would need to get a funnel to reach it. When I went to the box to get the included oil – there was a funnel already there. According to the manual it needs 1.2 liters and the included oil contained 1.2 liters – so I was happy that the unit is sold with all the necessary items included. Although I plan to use natural gas – I connected it to a propane tank, and it started right up and ran great. The scheduled maintenance instructions for oil changes, etc. is easy to follow.
