OMG! This thing runs like a dream!

Just received! My brother who lives 28 hrs away help me with installing feet/wheels. I literally know nothing about using a genny. He helped with live video and pics. Runs like a dream! We tested the distance with the remote start..about 40 ft and even through brick! I'm in Florida and getting ready for hurricane season. I learned last year with NO power for 10 days and lost all our food. NOT happening again! Thank you Westinghouse for making an awesome product. Hope we don't have to use this year but if we do, I'll come back to make another review on how it holds up. I've been told I can install this to my panel box as it's large enough to run my entire house.

Great Workhorse For Hurricane Season

We live in Houston and have experienced a few power outages over the last few years. Finally, this year we said enough is enough! The Westinghouse TriFuel 11500 is exactly what we were looking for. Setup was straight forward with easy to follow instructions. We cut the box down the sides and slid it out. We used the pallet it was delivered on to prop it up during the install of the wheels and legs. The legs and pull bar on the WH are much sturdier than what I've seen on comparable generators. We are using ours connected to a natural gas line directly on our house. So far it has started every time on the first try both via the push button and the remote. With the capacity of this unit, we are able to run our 3k sq ft home, with extra power to spare. We had a 50 amp plug installed directly off our electrical panel so we can just "plug and play". I know many people reading reviews are probably debating between this one and another blue brand...the WH is such a great quality at a fair price - you can't beat it!

Lights On and AC too

I purchased this unit because of the ability to burn natural gas, propane ,or gas. The unit starts nicely and is well built. I have used multiple generators and this one is the easiest one to use. It runs the whole house including the AC and our well.

Great Value for Price

This Tri-Fuel generator is powerful enough to run everything I need in my house during a power failure. The price and fuel flexibility are big pluses. It is solidly built and has many safety features as well as options such as both a 30A and 50A connection to my panel (I have a transfer switch connected to my panel) and four 20A GFCI plugs directly in the unit. The starting options: remote, push button, and pull cord as a fail safe are well thought out. The setup was easy: simple to attach foot bumpers & two wheels (wrenches included) and connect battery cord. I am looking forward to its first use. Full set of instructions and a quick start quide were included as well as a quart of oil and funnel. Securely packaged for shipping.

Incredible power and build quality

I purchased this generator with the hopes of never needing to use it but if and when I do I know it will power my whole home without issue. I purchased this tri fuel generator because it's better to have options and you never know what may be easy or difficult to get fuel wise. It's built to last forever and I plan to have it that long. Thank you Westinghouse...well done.

Easy to set up

This thing is an absolute beast when it's still in the box. Definitely a 2 or 3 person job to lift it into and out of a truck or van. The wheel installation was easy and it's much easier to move around once the wheels are on. I haven't fired it up yet, but there appears to be good clear instructions for starting it using any of the 3 fuel type options.

Used during Hurricane Milton

I purchased the tri-fuel generator to replace my troy built gas only generator. I wanted to use it with natural gas. Unfortunately, it would not run steady with natural gas. I initially could not start it, then started with gasoline first then switched over to natural gas. It continued to run but not efficient. I changed the spark plug to a E3-22 and it started with only natural gas but would hardly run and would not produce an output voltage. I believe it's the volume of natural gas that is the issue. I have to tap in closer to my meter and use the largest size hose then convert to the 1/2' QD at the generator. I used a full bottle of propane and it lasted a little less than 6 hrs. I have a transfer switch box with 10 breakers that it powered. 2 refrigerators, hot water heater, outlets and ceiling fans were powered. No issues other than my lights would flicker. This thing is a beast. I will be installing a soft start on my air conditioner and have that added in the box. I bought the larger 13000 BTU to support everything.

Best of the Home Backup Portable Generators

In looking for a backup power source for those times hurricanes or tropical storms leave us without power, I did lots of online searching for" the best" of the portable generators. Since my home is around 950 square feet, I really didn't need one of the huge, permanent ones. Turns out the Westinghouse generator was the hands-down winner in all the categories of what I wanted and needed. Since I have a natural gas service that continues to run when power is out, I was looking for a generator that ran on several types of fuel. The Model WHen10500TFc fit the bill perfectly. And since it was on sale during Florida's Tax Holiday, got it with no sales tax added!!. The manual and accompanying materials made it extremely clear on how to set up, run, and maintain this generator. The connections to make it capable of running my entire house (including air conditioning!) were a simple setup of connecting a 50A plug into a 50A breaker in my main breaker box. My electrician had it completed in less than two hours and checked the generator to make sure it was running and charging properly. No surprise. It all worked perfectly. I am now comfortable in the knowledge that the next time I lose power, my new Westinghouse WGen10500TFc will keep the power on at my house.

Great Buy good quality, i now feel protected

I bought the 14500/11500, and a transfer switch, once i got the transfer switch wired in to the main panel the Generator setup and operation was easy peasy. I hooked it up to a propane tank and turned off my main power breakter and then turned on the generator and transfer switch and all the breakers i hooked up work just fine. it has a remote start keyfob as well. the frame and materials appear to be relly good quality, heavy and sturdy. I am very pleased with the purchase. i feel protected now when the power goes out for days at a time after storms.

Converted from Standby to Portable, so far so good

After moving I wanted to find an alternative generator due to the cost of a full standby system, which we had at our last home. Love the Natural gas feature on this unit with the power to support much of my critical home items. Unit fired right up and is easy to use! Just installed a transfer switch as well to pair with this unit!
