Great Tri-Fuel Inverter Generator at a Great Price

I needed a new generator to power my house during preemptive power cuts we are going to be continuing to experience here in CO when the winds pick up. I do not have long term usage with this generator but initial impressions are very good, and this isn't my first inverter generator. This tri-fuel inverter generator will simultaneously run my 240V well pump, refrigerator, hydronic heater gas boiler system, some lights and my microwave while being powered by propane. I have not tried this with gasoline or natural gas yet but really pleased I have those options as I intend to get a NG line ran to be able run this generator via NG. The generator is not overly loud when running, the size is manageable since it comes with wheels and handle already installed. Very pleased with this purchase so far!

What a piece of junk!

I bought this almost a month ago in preparation for hurricane season. Two days after receiving it, our power was out for 7days. I had it connected to the main panel, and got the house powered up with it. After about 15 minutes I engaged the AC (my AC has a soft start connected), almost immediately the generator sputtered and died. I pulled this new unit out of service and ran the whole week with no further issues once I hooked up my older (less wattage) conventional generator. Thankfully I was able to sell this piece of crap to a neighbor who didn't care about running their main AC.

Quiet and great fuel options!

Purchased this generator mainly form it's low decibels (especially in eco mode). I also like that it can run on three different fuel types. Remote start is a nice feature (remote came already paired). Another main reason I purchased this generator is for the clean sine wave it produces for the longevity of my electronics.

igen 11000DFc

I have a igen4500 and love it. I was looking to use it to run 2 space heaters and a few snake cages during emergencies. I then realized biggest rule for generators is to make sure you don't get one that has to run at 80-100% of full capacity. Not only does fuel efficiency go way down but so does lifespan and noise level of generator. I debates on another igen4500 and parallel them or a Predator 9500. I watched some videos of parallel generators and even though power is there, noise level is much louder than just one big one. I have close neighbors....not worried about bothering them but letting them/anyone else know that I have one. So far this thing is AWESOME! If you have a igen4500 it is just its big brother. I was very impressed on how quiet it is. Also the compartments for adding oil or draining carb are so easy to get to. No nuts to unscrew, just twist the lock and pull clips. The carb already has drain tube and so does oil. After adding oil and non ethanol gas, it fired right up. Still in break in process but 2 hours in and great. Don't pay extra for less rated power from other brands. This has more power and cheaper, looks better and excellent options. I couldn't find any reviews on this model so hope this one helps.

Beware of High Altitude

If you live at high elevation (above 5,000'), you may want to reconsider using the Propane/Nat Gas fuel options because the parts kit does not exist, and Westinghouse does not have an ETA for restocking. So all you can do is order the High Altitude carburetor kit and burn gasoline. Not much of a value when you only get to use one out of three fuel sources at high elevation.

Started right up on propane

Purchased as a backup generator for our house when the power goes out. It will be enough to keep the refrigerators running and lights on, and probably a bit more. I got the generator setup with a propane tank and it started right up. Eventually, I plan to tap into our house's gas line so I won't have to worry about gasoline and propane tanks, but it's nice to have all three options.

Easy to operate.

I bought this just a week before a random power outage and so glad I did. Connecting to a propane tank was safe and easy, and the push button start was fantastic. My whole house transfer switch was already done, so we had this backup power running in less than 10 minutes. The plastic housing is great as it protects the inner workings from other nearby things in my storage shed.

First Generator

Have just completed the break in and it does run quiet. Ran on propane. Ran 2 periods. Second run took a bunch of hit the start buttons to get it running. I like that it is lighter than some in the same category. Instructions where a little vague on battery hookup. Should tell you which side. Not a fan of the low handle. Kind of a pain to open for an old guy of 70. Plan on getting a outlet to house for easy home backup so the 50 amp connection will be great.

Great Size

Was looking for a generator that ran on natural gas and had enough watts to do minimal whole home backup, fridge, lights, internet, light my gas fired boiler etc. No big AC systems or electric appliances. This one fit the bill, hopefully we never need it, if we do, its here.

Initial (positive) review of igen8200Tfc generator

I bought this igen8200tfc tri-fuel inverter generator at appx 30% discount 3 weeks ago during (Jan 2026) polar vortex. The thousands of reviews showed it has an unusually positive rating, 4.8/5 stars at one major vendor and 4.9/5 on another. We never lost utility power, so I'm just now registering and then doing break-in procedures later today. I did the inventory and inspection. It came with a REAL full-size manual! Its about an hour to fully read it/bookmark it, but the manual is very readable and well-illustrated (Thank You, Westinghouse!). I charged the battery overnight with the supplied trickle-charger. Added the supplied 10w30 engine oil (the supplied flexible screw-in filler funnel worked great to prevent any drips). So far everything looks correct per my inspection of connections, housing, panels, etc. Overall looks good. It is definately a quite heavy (135lbs) item, but for its power output level (6,600 RUNNING watts) is relatively light. I am able to lift it, but will be using ramps to load it in the back of my 2004 F150 bed. It's height (22 inches) just barely fits under my tonneau cover, but will transport just fine. (Sweet!). I just wanted to register it prior to first break-in startup. Wish me luck. I will try to update this review (presently 4 out of 5 stars) over time if this site will allow updates.
