Well Designed Backup Generator

This unit was purchased as a backup generator since we live in a hurricane prone area. I am happy with the construction, layout, and engineering. I have tested the unit with natural gas under light load and encountered no problems. My only complaint (and the reason for not giving 5 stars) is that the package was missing a dedicated hose for natural gas operation as per the packing list. I adapted the included propane hose by removing it from the propane pressure regulator.

It's a Beast

This generator is all that one could want in a generator. It's a Tri-fuel, giving one many options. It comes with the hoses to run it off propane or natural gas. Well made, with many ports for plugs. The 50 amps is plenty to run a house during power outages. It's easy to put together. There's no way it can be lifted, but the wheels make it fairly easy to mover around on level surfaces. The price point is good. It came with the battery fully charged. Well made and a solid generator. If you plan on moving a generator around a lot, this one may be too big, but if you're looking to keep it in the garage/shed for emergencies, than this would be a great generator to have.

Powerful, Versatile, Easy to use

After last year's hurricanes, I decided I needed a bigger and more versatile generator. Gasoline was hard to come by, so I wanted a propane option. This generator was a great deal for the features. Electric start, remote start, and pull cord if I forget to charge battery. Gasoline, propane, and natural gas should mean I can run my whole house without needing to wait in the chaos that are gas stations after a hurricane.

Powerful and Reliable Generator

I am born and raised in Florida and have been through countless hurricanes. Power can be down for weeks and even months. I needed something powerful and reliable, and so far this generator fits the bill. Have not tested it for an extended period of time but this thing crank right up first try. The remote start is an appreciated bonus. This generator gives me the ability to run my entire house with a/c, minus the drier and oven. As a mechanic, I cannot emphasize enough how important the break-in process is. It requires several oil changes with unloaded and loaded power cycles. There is little to no information about this process in the manual and the choke settings explained in the instructions is wrong, but common sense should prevail as it is an obvious typo. I absolutely love the tri fuel capabilities. When the power is out you will not be able to refuel if you run out. Having the ability to use propane when that happens is a game changer. Get you several 14 gallon fuel totes, fuel stabilizer, a cover for the generator and properly rated extension cords if you're not hooked to your panel. Obviously keep the generator as far away from windows and doors as possible. All together I rest easy knowing my family is prepared if and when another storm hits. I have owned Westinghouse in the past that was unfortunately stolen, but I find this brand to be of high quality and dependable. I definitely recommend this generator.

Powerful Generator

Bought last month to prepare for hurricane season here in the Houston,Tx area. Connected to natural gas and ran a test on the house and was able to run both ac units without soft starts and whatever else was on in the house. The generator kept up with the load and never bogged down. I am ready for the next power outage.

So far so good

Just moved to Florida and within the first six months had multiple hurricanes come through. Bought a generator that was supposed to be able to run the necessities of my home but just didn't keep up. So I got a 14500tfg. One thing I noticed immediately when I got it unboxed was how easy it was to put together. They did a great job with packaging and getting this thing ready to go almost instantly out of the box. Looks great, hopefully I'll never have to use it but if I do, I feel like it's gonna do a good job

Reliable Power and Great Flexibility

I've been really impressed with this generator so far. The tri-fuel option is a huge plus, giving me the flexibility to use gas, propane, or natural gas depending on what's available. It starts up easily and runs smoothly, providing plenty of power for my home during outages. The CO sensor adds extra peace of mind for safety, and the overall build quality feels solid and durable. It is on the heavier side, but the wheels make it manageable to move around when needed. Overall, a dependable and powerful generator that does exactly what I need.

Ready for the Florida Storms

I just received this generator. Set up was easy if you follow the manual. When adding oil make sure you do so incrementally. My unit had a little residual oil from the factory, so you likely won't need the whole quart. Pairing the remote was a breeze and start up was easy. After the break in period I will update this review. So far I am very pleased with my purchase.

Great so far

I bought the WGen14500TFc last year. It runs like a champ and it easily powers my entire home except for central heat/air. I don't know that it wouldn't also handle the HVAC but I may consider adding a soft start before I try. It is a little noisy but I knew that going in and it is a fine tradeoff to have this level of backup power at a good price point. Right now my only recommendation to improve the generator would be for it to come with a magnetic oil drain plug.

Big Power for the money

Purpose of Purchase: Bought this generator to power my food truck during service and as a backup power source for my home during outages. Upgrade Justification: I upgraded from an 8kW generator, which required refueling during long events (e.g., 12-hour shifts). Refueling meant pausing service—even with a line of customers—just to add gas. That's no longer an issue. Performance: This generator ran for a full 12-hour period on a single tank of gas without needing a refill. That's a huge plus and a game changer for continuous service. 🔑 Key Notes & Considerations: CO2 Sensor Issue: The generator shut off three times while running in an open field. The lights indicated a CO2 sensor error. I solved this by placing a fan near it to keep air circulating—worked like a charm. Unsure why it triggered in open air, but something to watch for. Battery Management: After my first test run, I forgot to turn off the battery switch. Several hours later, I noticed a light still on. Unfortunately, the battery drained completely and now won't recharge. Major downside: If the battery dies, there's no manual recoil option to start the generator. Jumper cables from your car or a power pack will resolve this issue. ✅ Pros: Long runtime (12+ hours) on a single tank Powerful enough for food truck and emergency home use Smooth, quiet operation Moderate noise ❌ Cons: Sensitive CO2 sensor (may require extra airflow) No backup manual start option Battery can die easily if left on and won't recharge
