I purchased this generator to replace my Dayna generator 4400 watt 9000 surge. This is a much needed upgrade I have been putting off for a while. I've only ran it for a hour to break it in. I had a 6 horsepower compressor running and it didn't phase the generator but I hooked it up to my old generator and it pulled it down. It will be a big difference the next power outage we have.

Received my WGen 12000DF today and it arrived perfectly shipped and in pristine condition. It was only a few simple steps (attach the wheels, add oil and gas, and attach the battery) before my new generator was up and running. Runs smooth, supplies plenty of power from it's many receptacles, and isn't loud. Next step is a transfer switch for the house and I'm complete and ready for the winter. I bought this generator for home use when the power goes out. I replaced an extended life generator from another brand that finally died during the power outage we just had here in AL. I shopped for several days to find an extended life dual fuel generator with a pressurized oil lubrication system and filter. I could not locate one and finally decided to purchase this generator for its features, less than 5% THD, and run time. Nowhere in the description for this generator, nor in any of the photos, does it indicate that this generator has pressurized oil lubrication. When it arrived yesterday we were amazed and absolutely thrilled that it has this feature. If this is emphasized in the advertisements and description Westinghouse would probably sell a lot more of these generators. We prepped it and then started it inside a metal storage building. Yes we know that we should have been outside. We were surprised and impressed that it was so quiet that we could actually talk to each other beside the generator in a metal building. We were impressed that the muffler was so large. Really happy with our purchase.

Carbon monoxide sensor renders the unit almost unusable. Any running engine will emit carbon monoxide. As soon as the sensor recognizes any amount within inches of the unit, your out of business. Mandatory disablement. Totally absurd that the fuel system cannot be drained. I would really like to know why Westinghouse would intentionally ignore such an important factor. The unit was designed to accept a convenient trickle charge, but for some reason, there is no explanation of how to use it. The overall unit has a lot of fantastic engineering design, but lacks on a few of the obvious.

When I was looking for a powerful generator that could take care of our needs after a hurricane, I turned to our electrician who recommended the WG 9500DF. He was right. The 9500DF is easy to operate and delivers power big time. We couldn't be happier with this product.

As many have said, you have to be thoughtful in how you uncrated because of its weight. I used a set of ramps and a floor jack and was able to get it off the pallet without issue. Easy to follow instructions, and it fired right up. so far, I have only tested it with small electrical appliances, as I have an electrician coming later this week to set me up to run the house. Be sure to check the GFI trip in the outlets, mine were tripped from the factory. The build quality and aesthetics are great! It is as loud as you would expect a V-twin engine to be.

I just bought this. It was very well packed. Setup was easy and uncomplicated. Added oil & fuel and it started right up. I tested all of the outlets. They all operated except the 120/240V AC 30 amp outlet. The 30 amp circuit breaker switch immediately above it is broken. I will contact Customer Service to see about repairing it.

I received the WGen12000GFc generator couple days ago. This generator was recommended by friends, and I did not know what to expect. Instantly I was impressed with the packaging, and very pleased by what seen once unpackage, very well built and user friendly. If you searching for backup power do not look past the WGen12000FDc.

I needed something big for powering ac/heat just in case ! This unit arrived unmolested by transport. I am impressed by the completely clear and concise manual along with all the features on the generator. Followed the step by step instructions and the unit fired right up. Ran it for 20 min. to break in which I will repeat 3 or 4 times before serious use !

Bought this based on all the positive reviews. Just had it installed and everything seems ok. Trying to figure out how much oil was needed was a bit of challenge. There's no low oil indicator, only a dipstick which is bright yellow and difficult to see the actual oil level. Just hope it works when it's needed.
