Great Generator

Great Generator, Its everything I was wanting to power the home. I live in south Texas along the gulf of Mexico. Hurricane season is always a stressful time. Now I can stay and protect my home and everything in it vs leaving the city and worrying about looters. I would have given it a 5 star, but when I opened it up, the screw from the oil pan wasn't closed correctly after they drained it for delivery and oil was everywhere. It wasn't allot but enough to worry me a little. The oil was all over the packaged items and the tools. Luckily that's all it was. But so far so good. This is my second Westinghouse Generator. Its a brand I can trust and the warranty is great.

Scotty, more power.

I had a smaller generator that could only provide me with 220/30 service (5700 watts). It would run everything but my A/C and hot water tank. I purchased this one so I could have 50amp/220 service and run everything in my house. I was amazed at all the features it had. Easy to set up and had running in just a few minutes. Really like the volt/amp/warning meter. The electric start is a big plus because at 73, I'm not a big fan of pull starting! Will be looking forward to testing it.

Great for home and office

Instead of getting the super big Generac one (which requires a huge propane tank install) we decided to buy this one it was the best investment we ever did. We have a well so when the electric goes out we don't have any water. So it's really important especially since the last power outage was 18 hours. We had the electrician put an outside outlet so we will be able to use everything inside except the heat pump. Now if you want your heat pump then you're going to have to go to a bigger model. But we didn't feel that was necessary because we have a propane stove to keep us warm in the winter and we have fans in the summer. This is a really good product and easy start which I was worried about. Remote start! 👏👏👏

Excellent Quality, Strong built

This is a very well built generator, it looks like it can take on a lot, 1 hour after it was out of the box after adding some fuel and connecting it to a propane tank it started on the first try and was able to go from gasoline to propane and back without any interruption. It is fairly quiet for its size and run very smoothly.

Love it after a year!

Purchased this generator July 2022. I have used it several times when the power was out. So far I have only ran it off of propane, which is what I intend to do unless I get in a situation where I run out of propane and need the generator in a pinch. I would then consider running on gasoline. Normally though I intend to only use propane because I don't want to deal with gasoline carbs gumming up. Seems to have plenty of power. We run the house A/C, 2 refrigerators, 1 deep freeze, and other appliances on. I think the A/C is a 4 ton OLD unit so it draws about 15 amps / 240V and the generator handles it fine. It grunts a little right when a heavy load is placed on it but they will all do that. I run my electric hot water heater as well, no problems.

Has the power and features needed

An electrical contractor that I hired to install a transfer switch recommended this generator. The contractor purchased and delivered the generator at the time of installing the transfer switch. So far no complaints, seems like a feature rich generator that will be reliable years to come.

Works like a charm

I bought this to power my house when the electricity goes out. The assembly was straight forward. It's very heavy so you have to use a hoist or someone to help lift it off of the pallet. I bought this to run on propane. My only gripe is the switch to select gasoline or propane is poorly illustrated.

Big Gen

I bought this generator to use due to frequent power outage at my cabin. Have a heat pump, well and electric hot water. I received it and it was as advertised. Delivery was great. Easy to assemble. It started right up. I look forward to testing it with a load..

Just what I needed

I bought after the fabled Texas Winter of 2021. Of course ERCOT was so embarrassed that they mandated improvements so that we have had only a few outages since and mostly less than an hour. I have not run it enough to perform normal maintenance. However, I can comment on a couple of recommended improvements. The oil dipstick fits too tightly into the access hole. The wire handle so small that it is difficult to insert due to bending, and to extract, because it is so tight. Also to prevent gasoline w/ ethanol from crystallizing in the carburetor or the fuel lines, the gas must be drained. This is difficult because the hose from the tank to the valve is behind the valve switch plate. I can remove the hose from the valve but it is not long enough to reach to a drain bucket. Same problem with adding oil. The cap is recessed so that I had to buy a funnel with long spout to get oil in. Just some inconveniences. All in all, a great product
