One of the better roasts from Starbucks and I am not a huge fan of most of their roasts. Has a deep and nutty flavor.

Deep Dark Flavor without the harsh bitter flavor that I have found in my search for a dark rich coffee.

Have been drinking this coffee for years. I've tried others but they all fail to meet my expectations.

I love this rich bold flavored coffee. I wish and hope Sams carries this as a staple. It's my favorite. I buy many bags to stock up

I've tried a number of other coffees since Sam's discontinued Starbucks French Roast. Of the lot I guess I'd say Verona is the better choice since it is not over roasted nor is it bitter, which is about the only positives I can say. I know it's a dark roast only by looking at the color. If I don't use ~ 25% more coffee to make a pot it tastes very weak. But I prefer dark roast coffee because of its lower caffeine, otherwise I think I'd go with Pike Place, which many of my friends drink. (Plus that still comes in 40 oz bags unlike Verona.) I miss the robust, smoky flavor of Starbucks French Roast and like many others wish Sam's would bring it back.

I think they call it shrink marketing. They lowered the price back to what it was a while ago but they reduced the amount of coffee by 20%. It used to be 40oz. now 32oz.!!!!

I love the Starbucks Cafe Verona but this tastes like water, even using twice the amount recommended.

This type is just okay. I highly prefer the Starbucks French Roast that you discontinued.
