I was hesitant to try this based on the mixed reviews, and couldn’t have been more pleasantly surprised. The cake is moist, the filling is creamy and buttery, and the few dollops of chocolate buttercream on top are perfectly executed. I’m typically a local bakery snob, but this did not disappoint.

This cake looks amazing but it stops there. Its definitely not German chocolate cake. Ours was very dry and crumbly and the topping and the filling is not the normal topping and filling. We were very disappointed and since we live over 30 minutes away and gas is so high it wasnt worth returning.

This is a beautiful cake… And that’s where the positives end. It is not German chocolate cake, it is dark chocolate cake, the only true coconut pecan frosting is on the top, the inside layers are a hard, caramel flavor, almost crunchy filling that does not taste good at all, this is absolutely not a German chocolate cake. It does not look like one, it does not taste like one, this is a very expensive mistake.
