I'm so excited to have the Opal 2.0 ice maker in my home! After visiting a friend for a week I was addicted lol. Set up instructions were easy, and already making ice! Didn't even have to call my husband to help! Now to get a glass and a cocktail with some yummy ice!

I was feeling so worried reading all the reviews about how this ice maker worked for a total of 3 months and then there would be issues. Or how it would start to make loud noises and eventually die. Well seriously I haven't had any issues. No noises at all. Except for when I fill the tank with water. That's the only time that it makes any noticeable noise. The ice maker is basically in my room, studio apartment, so the level of noise that the ice maker makes was quite a concern for me. I don't even realize that it is still on half the time. Such a good buy. I do not have buyers remorse. I'm glad I just put forth 200 more dollars for the GE brand and got this ice maker verses a knock off or an opal ice maker machine that just isn't built to the best quality like the GE brand. I'm am so satisfied and if your reading reviews trying to figure out if it's worth it….just buy the ice maker and stop searching. This really is the one you want.

We love the crushed ice. Theses machines appear to be finicky. We are on our 3rd one. The first one quite after 3 months. It was replaced by warranty. The second one lasted 2 weeks. We returned it for a refund. Broke down a few weeks ago and ordered another one. So far so good. It's been a month!

We had a version 1 for 6+ years and it worked great. It finally stopped working and we decided to buy the new version with the side tank. We are extremely happy that our first one lasted as long as it did and really like to newer version. The side tank is very handy.

Makes ice fast. Love the nugget ice like sonic has. The water tank was not well thought out. Holds 3/4 a gallon water. Since you buy water in gallon jugs you always have some left over. Would have been nice for the tank to hold more than a gallon of water.so when it was low you are able to add a whole gallon at a time. Otherwise I live this ice maker

The GE Opal Ice Maker is absolutely the best purchase I have made in quite some time. I am addicted to the ice it makes, and it makes plenty. Truly remarkable. It makes the ice cubes that come from a refrigerator both inferior and obsolete. The WiFi and the ability to schedule when ice is made is simply amazing. Well done, GE. Very happy customer.

This machine is amazing! If you like soft pellet ice, this is the machine for you. It has a reservoir tank, so you don't always have to fill it with water. It makes plenty of ice for two huge cups and recovers quickly. It is perfect for couples or a family of three. I bought a cheaper machine than this one online, and it just didn't give us enough ice, so we purchased this gem. It has a one-year manufacturer warranty. Most countertop machines have a 90-day warranty. If you want this type of ice maker, spend the extra money. Great appliance, and I work on appliances for a living. Well worth the investment!

We love this ice maker! Great for everyday use as well as bagging for trips or parties. Only downside to be expected is because it's smaller ice it melts faster when in use in coolers etc. larger than anticipated but great in a corner of the counter

We tried two other ice makers and were sorely disappointed. When we decided to invest a little more money into this model, our expectations were high, but also exceeded when it arrived and we had our first taste! I loved it so much that I purchased another one for a friend of mine who was overjoyed!

Easy to set up. Clear instructions on how to do the initial cleaning and installation. Perfect ice at home! This has helped us drink more water because we have awesome ice to eat along with it. The amount that it produces is great for the 2 of us. You may need to ration the servings if you have 4 or more people using this regularly. Still would recommend and so glad I received it for Christmas!
