Just got them set up and it is the most perfect ice I ve ever tried. Low noise and easy to operate. I like ices with everything all year long. Iced coffee iced juices, teas and water. I did tons of research on ice makers. I hated all the designs. Looks great on my grey cabinets. Looks perfect with our modern decor. Very straightforward installations.

We really like the ice maker, while it worked. Unfortunately, we had to return ours after just seven months of use. It would no longer produce ice regardless of all the troubleshooting and cleaning we went thru. The replacement only last as long, another 7 months. We are a family of 5 who used it daily, but not overused. The warranty is just 12 months from original date of purchase, even though I had a replacement for just 7 months, so we were out of luck. For being one of the more expensive models on the market, we expected a longer-lasting better quality machine.

It was packaged very securely and arrived in perfect condition. The set up was a breeze and took less than 30 minutes. Directions were straightforward, easy to understand, and follow. I purchased the optional side tank, but since now every beverage has to be made with “the good ice” it seems like I’m still adding water all the time. I wish they would have included, as an option to plumb in directly to the homes water line. Only regret is I wish I would have made the purchase sooner.

Unit will not keep the pump primed so it won't make ice. GE sent instructions on manually priming the pump which worked, but you have to do it every time which is not a good solution. My initial claim was within warranty, but now it's been 13 months and GE will no longer honor the warranty even though it has never worked properly. I'm giving it 3 stars because it does make great ice but the reliability is not good.

I have had it for 2 years now. Great run but now it's on a constant cleaning mode. We unplug and reset and it last for a day. It continues to just filter water causing what ice we have to melt. Not sure what life expectancy is but for the price lasting 2 years just doesn't seem right.

I really wanted this to work out. I loved the ice it made but had to return the first one due to it not working properly right out of the box. The second one returned less than 30 days for the same reason. The ice maker would continually go into defrost mode and melt all the ice it made. There was plenty of space behind the unit and the sides were unobstructed.

For anyone with a nice home bar, this is a nice capstone to your equipment. The setup for wireless is simple, and you're less than an hour from unpacking to getting ice in your bin. I can't imagine not having the side-mount water reservoir, so plan to make that part of your purchase. I wish the bin was a little more insulated to keep the ice from melting, but when you're using it for a party or other activity, melting won't be an issue.

I love the nugget ice. It's just the right size and texture. Makes ice very quickly. The ice stays frozen for a long time. Much longer than I expected since it doesn't keep it frozen. I've only been using it for a month so I can't give a long term evaluation but I am extremely pleased so far. Only downside is that it was very pricy but it may be worth it in the long run and the need to purchase the scale inhibiting filters or distilled water. Hopefully this product will last us for many years.

Our unit is for a weekend lake home. So on for 2-3 days then sits idle for a week or two. Draining unit isn’t easy. At each start up I run through the bleach water mix and rinse. Don’t want any bacteria issues. We'll see how it goes for the summer. Only in use for a month. Ice production is good so far. No noise issues that I’ve read in other reviews, but ours is in a laundry room away from living area.

If it didn’t run ALL THE TIME and require so much constant care it would be 5/5. We love the ice this machine makes, it seems to be a well built product and has some very nice improvements over the 1st gen machine. But… holy smokes is it loud and the thing runs ALL THE TIME. Open the bin and get a scoop of ice - it runs, for a long long time. Start it up it runs forever…until it’s full hours later. It has to be the most inefficient appliance we own. We use distilled water, purchased the filter and it still wants us to descale it all the time. If you don’t REALLY REALLY… REEEALLY want this ice, this is one that we maybe would have reconsidered before buying.
