This product is worth every penny! My wife and children love to eat ice and our ice maker in our fridge just couldn't keep up. I was constantly going to Sonic to get them ice. Now they just walk over to the counter and scoop out as much as they want!! They are completely hooked. The ice never sticks together, never runs low and constantly recycles itself! It really is a great product! Do yourself a favor and BUY one! You won't regret it!!

This ice maker is pretty expensive, but it is one of my family's favorite things. It makes the perfect, chewable ice. The side tank is really helpful so that we aren't constantly having to refill it. We honestly use it multiple times a day. If you are hesitant because of the price, I would say get it! You will not regret it.

I love this ice maker! Makes the good Sonic ice and it makes it fast. Well worth every penny. I read a lot of the reviews & most complained that it's loud, but honestly, unless you sleep in the kitchen, I don't see why it's a problem. If you are on the fence about buying one, just DO IT you won't be disappointed. We'll worth every penny.

Loved this until the fan got really noisy after a couple months and then it completely took a dump after two years. Main pump/freezer unit leaks and dumps water all over the counter. Of course the warranty expired. Would cost more to fix than to buy a new one.

we absolutely love our opal 2.0 nugget machine and do our regular cleanings. It is a little cumbersome to clean very difficult to find replacement parts even through GE. ours has been down for the last month because I cannot find a replacement ice spin or ice spin warped because my daughter put it in the dishwasher and it melted so I found an extra side bin, but I cannot find a replaceable ice tray holder anywhere any suggestions on how we can replace that? what do I need to do?

I never write reviews, but in this case I'm making an exception. I want to forewarn potential purchasers. I got an ice maker for my wife for Christmas and was really excited for the machine because my wife loves pebble ice. The ice this machine makes is really great pebble ice. The problem is that within two weeks of setting it up, carefully following instructions, the machine began to make the loud screeching noise that some of the reviews have referred to. The noise wouldn't go away even when I turned the machine off. I had to unplug it to get the noise to stop. The ice was so good I decided to give the machine another try, but not much later had the same thing happen. Within just a few weeks of setting up the machine, I had probably 5 or 6 incidents of the noise that in most cases wouldn't go away unless I unplugged the machine. And it's not just a small, annoying noise; it's a loud screeching/high pitched humming sound. I have no idea what causes the noise -- I'm not an engineer -- but this is to me definitely a design issue. It sound like maybe the machine internally creates a vacuum of some kind which makes the noise. Anyway, as good as the ice this machine makes, I would definitely urge you not to buy it. If it actually worked without the noise, it would be well worth it, but the noise makes it not tolerable. Really too bad.

The product created amazing ice while it worked. We are 8 months out of warranty and it makes a horrific loud knocking grinding whining screaming sound while making ice. It's so loud our neighbors can hear so we had to discontinue using it after only 19 months of owning it.

Just got my new Opal ice machine installed and it's kicking out ice within 20 minutes of the install. Ice is just perfect for that crunch monster inside me!! It's going to be a great asset to my kitchen. Thanks GE for a great appliance. Been waiting on a good ice machine for a while!!

Easy to set up, clean, and get going. However, after 2 days the ice bucket got bumped as we were refilling the water and it cracked when it hit the floor and broke off the grey handle. I called support and all I got was, sorry, you can buy a new one. Returned it. If you have kids or pets be careful, the parts break easy.
