Omg I love this machine soooooo much! My entire family enjoys it...when I allow it LOL. This was the absolute best purchase I've made in a while. Being able to start my ice maker before I even leave work has been a big help and I love it more and more each day.

So I’ve wanted this little nugget ice maker for awhile. Finally convinced the husband to splurge on it because let’s face it it’s a little pricey. The only thing is when you open the bin after overnight, it leaks a lot. I assume because the ice has been sitting and is melting. That’s only if you open all the way, but otherwise it’s very convenient and I love the little nuggets!

Well so far so good. It came packaged good and was easy to assemble the extra water reservoir. Waited 6 hours to plug in and started it with no issues whatsoever. It’s quiet and producing plenty of ice. I like the App for setting a schedule but i wish they would add a cleaning reminder after so many hours of operation. The ice is more solid of pellet form not like softer ice but is still chewable. I would recommend this to anyone who wants small nugget ice.

I purchased the nugget I’ve maker back in November and have truly enjoyed having it. Although it’s a bit of an investment it’s so worth it. It consistently makes ice and the ice does not freeze into one big chunk. The nuggets are easy to chew and cool down my drinks nicely.

It's so good to always have this type of ice on hand. It's great for my wife and myself. Makes additional ice rather quickly too! Would highly recommend as an excellent ice maker for your countertop. I like the way it recycles the water from melted ice.

Fast, great tasting, handles a gal of H2O. It started making ice an hour after it was set up. I can set up an on or off schedule for 1 day or 7 days. Operate it from my apple phone. Only draw back is the ice seems to thaw out kind of quick. The water is not wasted though! It drips into a reservoir and remade into ice again.

I bought this for my wife for Christmas. She had borrowed two friends nugget ice makers several times because she really likes nugget ice. I knew my wife really wanted one but I wanted a quality one, not a cheap one. I did lots of research and found that the GE Opal always ranked high and had great reviews. We have been totally impressed with this ice maker. My wife’s even got me hooked on nugget ice. It is WAY quieter than our friends. You really don’t hear it unless you are in the kitchen. When we had used our friends ice makers, they were very loud. Some other things I really like about the GE Opal 2 - it makes ice very fast. It connects to WiFi so you can turn it on/off remotely. You can set a schedule for it to turn on/off at certain times. If you want your ice maker running in tip top shape and for it to last, you want to be faithful in doing this maintenance. Overall, we love this ice maker and are very pleased with it. I laugh at my wife because she bags the ice in 2 gallon bags and hands it out to friends and neighbors. She really likes her nugget ice. This GE Opal 2.0 is a workhorse and keeps her and all our friends very happy.

The instructions are very helpful and detailed enough for a smooth and easy setup. The ice machine is has a comfortable sound level to where you forget that it's on until you either look at and see the light on or you hear the ice drop. It makes the nugget ice as you expect, it was easy to download the app to control by phone and the side tank is easy to take off to refill and put back on. The side tank holder works perfectly on attaching to the ice maker. The ice maker fits comfortably under your average sized space under cabinets in an older home like mine. You'll have maybe less than an inch left of space under the cabinet once you push the ice machine under the cabinet and that's with the tank attached. The machine can hold a large amount of ice in the bin and keep it frozen until used as long as you keep the machine turned on. My family and I are really happy with it. I love the black stainless, it looks Sooo Goooood!

The ice maker works fairly well. Occasionally, it will produced some ice similar to shaved ice, but produces perfect nuggets otherwise. The water basin is not the easiest to fill. The ice bin must be completely removed, and needs a plate or pan to rest to prevent water from the bottom getting on the counter, and to prevent contamination (water drains from bottom of bin back into basin). Bin area is poorly insulated, so ice continually melts and is remade. The is no refrigeration on the bin, unit only runs while making ice. When ice making starts, it pours water over the existing ice more a few minutes until the tubes freeze and start forming the nuggets. Cleaning is a little involved, but not terrible all things considered, especially if installed with a foot or so of a sink. Overall, it is a decent product, but for the price I would expect a little more than the basic design described above.

So, I have wanted one of these for some time. I have always liked chewing on ice, much to my parents' chagrin, and have a predilection for quality pellet ice - you know, the amazing ice you get at many restaurants. We also just got into making Tiki cocktails, and many of them use large amounts of ice to make the beverage super cold and enjoyable. So, it was time to make it happen, and I can report that this machine is amazing. Not only does this machine make the ice I love, it allows me to use my phone to program a schedule for it to do so. It's great to keep energy use down to a minimum, so it only makes ice when we need it. I also like how the water from the ice as it melts goes into the reservoir, so we don't waste it. The machine doesn't have a "freezer" in the ice compartment, so the ice will melt if it's not consumed - I like that we aren't wasting energy with that, and we just focus on making fresh ice for relatively immediate use. Super easy to clean and set up. Great product. Glad I finally got it!
