No problems whatsoever with this machine so we . We love it. Starts producing ice in about 10 to 15 minutes. If we're going to be out of town we make sure the tank is full of water and we can start the ice maker up when we're about 2 hours from home and have fresh ice waiting on us .

Ice machine pumps out ice quickly, simple to use. Ice is good quality. Downsides: not insulated super well, water has condensed in the basket window with no way to take apart to clean. App scheduling interface and capabilities are a bit confusing and difficult to navigate. Fairly heavy, cumbersome to move around for cleaning. Can get loud at times, not sure why. Replacement parts seem insanely expensive or impossible to find. Quite a bit of water drips into tray when you take it out to get ice. Wish you could take back apart to clean inside better.

I have this product a 4 out of 5 because it is loud! If you don't want to have the noise you will need to put it in an area that is not a common area. For example if you put it in your kitchen it will disrupt conversation because of how loud it is. Other than that it is a great ice machine! Also it is pricey.

We have had this ice maker for a month and its great at making sufficient ice for the family. Its attractive in the kitchen and especially the black stainless which matches our other GE appliances. Only down side is the occasional squealing noise and this despite cleaning and rinsing. The manual mentions this in the Troubleshooting section so its presumed to be part of normal operation when the machine needs to be cleaned. However, it happens on our unit despite cleaning. Beware.

Love the ice, but the noise is terrible! I'm literally in the process of vinegar soaking my opal. It literally sounds like a cat-fight during the defrost cycle. Hopefully a cleaning will fix the noise because if it doesn't, this will go down as being one of the worst appliance purchases ever!

I love what I call sonic ice. My husband really loved sonic ice. I was going to buy the icemaker for him for Christmas 2022. But he got sick in Jan. 2022 and passed away 1 year ago today. So I really bought it as a bucket list for my husband. Everytime I use it , It brings him to my mind and heart.So I love the ice machine.

I was at a dear friend's house having cocktails and she had this new Ice Maker. When I got home I forgot to get the info on it. After contacting her back, I order one for our home bar. This is the bomb-diggaddy. Perfect for our hosting of socials and small occasions. I love the WiFi feature and instantly set up a schedule for it to run in the evenings. The unit is so easy to unbox, setup and configure. Cleaning was a breeze as well. Love the unit.

This was a replacement ice maker because the new on I bought was making a squeaking noise as soon as I plugged it in to make ice the replacement they sent me started making a knocking sound as so as I plugged it in then stopped making ice after one day

Product arrived with a failure in the manufacturing of the water tank. They failed to glue the two halves together. Contacted support who told me I needed to return the entire product which is silly when only the external tank was a problem. Otherwise the ice maker works well. Our last opal only lasted 2.5 years so we will see how long this one last.

We recently bought the Opal 2.0 nugget ice machine and it has been great. We were quite surprised to see ice being made just 10 minutes after the last clean cycle. I had a concern about the noise but although it does produce sound; it is only discernable in the early morning hours before my kids wake up. We don't notice the machine running during the day. I love the fact that it stops making ice once the bin is full and also that you can set a schedule to make ice. We wake up to a full bin of ice and come home from work and school to an ice full. The 3lb capacity has been plenty although we did save a couple of gallon-sized bags in the freezer if we ever needed any more. We have found that the machine takes a little more than 3 hours to fill up.
