I did my research and purchased this to replace my Husky 5500. It is a bit louder but was expected. Still quieter than most brands. Built very stable and comes with most important features. I hook it up to a transfer switch and powers most of the house. Starts fast and runs smooth. Looks like it will give me years of satisfaction. Very nice generator.

The tri-fuel setup is a game changer. Whether it's gas, propane, or natural gas, it fires up quick and runs smooth. Noise-wise, it's not whisper-quiet, but for the power you're getting, it's surprisingly reasonable. You'll hear it, but it's not going to rattle your teeth. Maintenance is straightforward—keep up with oil changes and check the air filter now and then, and it'll treat you right. COsense is a solid safety feature, and the build quality feels like it could survive a small war. Or a zombie apocalypse—because let's be honest, if the world ends, you'll still have power while the neighbors are burning furniture.

It can run from 3 fuel sources which makes it convenient for many emergencies or when you need it most. The wattage and power is impressive. This runs my deep freezer for hours without any issues. It was easy to assemble and the wheels and handle make it easy to move around. This generator is incredible, the noise level is surprisingly low for as much power that it boasts. This is perfect for the power outages that have unfortunately become more common in this area. This is a product and brand that I highly recommend.

This is a very good product, easy to put into use, and I can effectively use it to run everything I need in an emergency. starts easy even though it doesn't have an electric starter. I would by it again. We live in an area where storms take out power frequently. The transfer switch was easy to install as well.

I have given this generator a 5 star rating based on my experience with it so far, and so far I haven't needed to use it for the reason it was purchased; to supply emergency power during electrical outages. That having been said, I am impressed with what I have seen so far. The unit arrived in perfect condition, and assembly was easy. I was concerned by the advertised weight at first, but the carton was easily handled by two people, and after assembly, it is easy to move from storage to the driveway where it will be used. The battery was charged when it arrived, and it started right up and ran steadily for about 15 minutes. I had minor difficulty adding the engine oil, in that I had to hunt around for a long necked funnel to use to pour the oil into the unit, no big deal. And, the instructions indicate that you should check the oil level as oil is being added, so as not to overfill the unit. I did this, only to read later that the recommended oil capacity is 1 quart, and exactly one quart of oil was supplied. It would have saved me a few minutes if the instructions said "Pour the 1 quart of enclosed oil into the oil fill plug". Also, no big deal. Finally, it would be nice to have a compartment or something on the unit to hold the battery charger. I solved that problem with a bag attached to the frame with zip ties. If this is all I can find to complain about, I would say that I'm pretty satisfied. I trust that this unit will perform as well when the need arises as it has so far.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The first thing I noticed when receiving the generator. It is heavy and the packaging met the needs so it was protected during shipping. There was even a couple strips is 1/2” wood to protect the parts. You will need a couple people to load it into a pickup bed. The first thing I do with all equipment is read the manual and check for missing parts. One very small issue, the bolts in the parts list did not match what was shipped. There were 4 of the M8 bolts and the list showed 8. There were 2 bolts in the. Kit that were not on the parts list but matched where they were needed to be installed. This is not an issue with the unit at all but I do like when the parts list matches what is sent. On to assembly. There isn't a lot to do to get the unit ready for use. Bolt on the wheels, frame feet and handle. Then add oil and install the included battery and it's ready for use. The tires are run flat tires and once mounted with the feet the unit sits level. After turning on the breakers and filling with gas I hit the electric start and it fired right up on the second try. I plugged it into my 5th wheel camper. I used my sure protector and it did not show any faults. I then turned on every light, refrigerator, microwave, exhaust fans, two air conditioners, and the furnace. The unit had no trouble at all keeping up with the load in fact pretty much seemed to just idle through. The unit is a tri-gas unit. I plugged in the easy quick connect propane hose and hooked it up to a 20lb propane bottle. I turned the fuel selector knob from gas to propane and it switched flawlessly with just a slight hesitation. I didn't notice any interruptions with the loads when it switched. After letting the unit set for a few days I pulled it out of the garage and rolled it outside. The very sturdy u shaped handle is great and makes rolling it around a breeze. The temperature was 45 degrees so cool but not cold out. I wanted to try starting with the pull cord. It is a big engine to pull start (500cc) and it started on the second pull. It may have fired on the first pull had I anticipated the force needed to pull it. I let it warm up and plugged in my welder. I don't typically use a welder on a generator but it is a need occasionally. My welder is a Vulcan Mimas 215, I'd prefer a Miller or Lincoln but I work with what I have. I used it to weld using.30 flux core on 3/16” steel. A little heavier than suggested on 120V power. As soon as I started welding it tripped the 120V GFI reception the generator. Usually I don't plug into a GFI receptacle for welding but I reset it so I could see if it would actually run my welder. The second time it didn't trip and yes ran my welder as well as if plugged into shore power. I don't know why the receptacle didn't trip the second time but it held. Al in all I love this generator and am anxious to get a transfer switch set up on my electrical panel for the house. And have back up power during a power outage and have a good outlet to run and exercise this beast with a good load on it monthly. The noise this unit produced was not that bad, a lot quieter than others I've dealt with.

I had previously owned a Generac 6500 and needed another unit due to the worst ice storm to hit in decades. I found a unit 3 hours away. It was worth the trip. I cut open the box, added the oil, handle and wheels. Put gas in the tank, and it fired up on the first pull. Quality I knew I could trust. It was worth the trip to bypass the lesser known brands.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Generac generator is a tri fuel generator i like that you can use gasoline or propane or natural gas it also has a CO sensor that shuts off the generator if it detects carbon monoxide you can start it with a push button or a pull rope it is not very noisy it is easy to assemble and easily rolls where ever you need it

I already owned a 5kv Generac and was extremely happy with it. A few weeks ago my daughter lost power due to storms and was told it could be 5 days until power returned. I loaded my 5kw on trailer and connected to power her frig, furnace, and a few lights. Generator worked great as always, and saved all food, kept house heated. I then decided why haul back and forth, since it worked so well at her house I'd leave it there and buy myself this new 6500E. Now I know we both will never be w/o power again what ever mother nature throws at us and I will not have to "share."

It's kinda scary purchasing something you hope you never have to use, but for this generator ... that's the case! I expect good results sometime in the future; and I base my expectation on the homework I did on Generac Products. I think the best way to assure its reliability if I do not use it for 5-10 years, may be to simply store it as purchased ... but I have decided to run it 30 minutes every month instead. I'd like very much to give you all another review every 5 years !!
