I was contacted by a neighbor that our area had lost power, and bought a GP6500 on my way home. I followed the operator manual, it started right away and I was able to save the food in our freezer and fridge. In my mind it has paid for itself. This is just the right size to cover critical needs during summer and winter storms.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This thing is awesome! The Tru Fuel feature is super convenient. It's is pretty heavy but it has wheels to move around when needed. So far it works well, I don't need a generator frequently but the convenience is great.

I used my generator once up to this point. It powered my house for a day. It's a duel fuel generator, I wanted to use the propane option, read and reread the manual numerous times, but could not get it to work. I used gas. In order to get it looked at I'd have to lift the generator into my suv, which is impossible. I feel it's ridiculous that I can't get someone to my house to look at it, get it working properly.

This unit has everything I need for home backup. It's a heavy machine but the pivot handle makes it easy to move around. I also like the never flat wheels. The only drawback is the lack of clear instructions for changing oil and draining fuel. The instructions are vague for a novice like me. I need more detail and better drawings. Well worth the price I paid for home backup.

Purchased it for piece of mind. I have only ran for about 6 hours so far and that was for the break in and multiple oil changes. One of those hours I did have it hooked up to my house and it powered everything I wanted with extra watts to spare ( that's why I bought a bigger one I read you only want to use about 60 % all the time to last longer) seems well made . only complaint it does use more gas per hour than other comparable models but that's it

We recently purchased the Generac GP6500 and couldn't be more pleased with this product. This generator had its fair share of use after the recent damage caused by hurricane Florence in the coastal region of Eastern North Carolina. The GP6500 generator was easy to assemble and started up on the first pull out of the box. The generator ran continually throughout the daytime hours for a solid week after the hurricane had passed through our area knocking out power to our subdivision. We had NO issues or complications with our Generac GP6500 while we were waiting to have our power restored. Also, we noticed that the full burn of the generator seemed to be more efficient than expected. This was a major relief to us since all gas stations in our area were closed due to lack of available refueling trucks as well as there was no electricity to operate the gas pumps at the stations. Not having to worry about running out of gas for our generator was very reassuring. Not only did we use our Generac GP6500 after we lost power at our home we also continued to use it as we participated in various clean-up projects for others homes who suffered severe storm damage in which utility power was not able to be restored. The GP6500 was small enough to be transported to various worksites as home repairs were needed throughout our region. Again, we used our generator all throughout the day while we operated electrical equipment to assist with clean up and various home salvaging activities. We've since winterized our Generac GP6500 (which was simple and easy to perform) and have it stored and ready for the next time it is needed. Unfortunately, living close to the coast in North Carolina results in yearly threats of hurricanes. However, we are comforted knowing that we are prepared for any future storms and power outages with our Generac GP6500 ready to go in the garage. Good Job Generac!

I don't write many reviews but we are in an ice storm power outage. I dusted off my Generac 6500 XL which I purchased in 1999. It started right up and is running my entire house - well pump, furnace, frig, and lights including Christmas lights. . It is 17 degrees out. This generator is great. It starts first or second pull every time. It will be hard to find a replacement to match this one if it every wears out. Happy generating.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is absolutely an amazing generator—-I mean, top of the line brand, and just remarkable specs. It can run on gasoline, liquid propane, or natural gas. It offers 12500 starting watts of power and 9500 running watts. This generator gives me so much comfort that if something happens, I know we will have power and everything will okay until the power comes back!!! I highly recommend this generator— worth every single penny!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Generac GP9500E Tri-Fuel is a fortress of reliable portable power. It stands out for its substantial output, multi-fuel adaptability, and safety focus. While it leans into simplicity over tech-savvy features and isn't the lightest or most efficient, it packs an outstanding value for serious backup power needs.

After much research I waited a little too long to purchase this generator as we had a power outage at 9:30 pm but at 11 pm I had the house up and running the store was 20 minutes away. The unit did every thing I expected and more.My family was very relieved as I had every light in the house on 2 freezers ,fridge and sump pump I had already set the house up for generator use so after assembling generator it was plug in and go.The outage lasted 6 hrs then 2 days later power was out again for 4 hrs did not miss a beat I hope I do not need it again but if I do the security is worth the price alone.
