We purchased this ice maker not even a year ago and it has already broke. Warranty covered it but we was told a new warranty will not be issued and this new machine will go off our old machine so it will expire in July. It broke before a year so I’m worried this $400 machine will become a paperweight before next year.

Great product

The ice is great BUT the maintenance sucks. This thing constantly has a dark gross film that comes back a couple of days after cleaning it. I’ve left vinegar in it for DAYS and still can’t get it clean. If you have a filter, you’re probably fine, but for regular water and especially hard water be prepared to constantly be cleaning this thing.

If we could give it zero stars we would. We owned this for less than 3 months and it started making these loud screeching noises. Even though it didn't indicate that it needed it, we gave it a good clean and it still screeched and screeched. Terrible... Certainly not what we expected from a GE Profile product.

Ice stays cold and does'nt waste water, love size and softness of ice

The first one worked for about a day, and literally came to a grinding halt. The replacement wouldn’t even turn on. These machines are a terrible design and Im really surprised Sams Club is allowing them to be sold. Pay attention to the reviews, it isn’t just a few bad apples, it is just an overall bad product. (The Opal customer service didn’t even try to have me get it repaired, they told me to send it back within 30 seconds of the phone call)

Purchased one for my wife for Christmas, that one lasted 10 days before it had a horrible screeching sound. We returned that one and exchanged it for another. That one didn't even make it a day before it was making the same noise. We even did the cleaning cycle multiple times (on both new machines) and this didn't help either. We used triple filtered soft water, so very highly doubt the problem was lime buildup in 2 brand new machines. The 2nd one will be going back tomorrow when the store opens.
