It cooks perfectly without constantly watching

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this rice and grain cooker. Just add your food and the water to the max line and it Will automatically add the amount of water it takes to cook. First I made beans. It took 2 hours and they were really soft. You could stop it earlier if you don’t want them as soft. It also cooked rice perfectly in about 25 minutes. Can’t wait to cook something new in it.

Great variety of items it cooks including farro

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m actually in disbelief about how easily this cooks so many things! I am on the Mediterranean diet and need to cook grains and this makes it so easy because you can prepare everything else while this does the grains without stirring!!!

So simple to use, and perfectly cooked!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wow this is a life changer! I have boiled rice for years and I’ve never loved making them as much as I do now. I cook dinner most nights and I make a variety of food. I was so impressed with how easy this was to use and the our rice was perfectly cooked down to every grain. I was even able to pop in some vegetables to steam at the same time up to 24 hours before with the auto delayed cooking, and it’s safe around my kids with it being touch safe. I can’t wait to use it for other options like beans and quinoa-there is 21 presets already programmed into the machine to just fill, press, and go. This gets a full 5 stars from this family of 4!

Rice without the hassle!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A little thing about me i eat rice everyday idc if its plain with nothing on it! When i started making rice i would microwave the minute rice but never liked the texture. It took me a while to learn how to cook actual rice perfectly. So to have a machine where you SET IT AND FORGET IT??? Im in love it will be a everyday use in this household!!

Seriously useful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was a little nervous when my dinner rested on the two cups of brown rice I put into this machine. But in one hour I had perfectly steamed brown rice! Boiled rice can be so gummy and sticky and a mess to clean up. But this rice cooker created fluffy rice, that didn’t stick, and it was super easy to clean. A little bit big to sit on a counter in a small kitchen but definitely something I will be using from now on for all my rice and grain needs.

It can cook potatoes!

We got this for our anniversary and so far I absolutely love it! I used to make fun of people using rice cookers, because rice is easy to cook, you just need a pot of boiling water. Until I got one - then I used and abused that poor thing - it's just so much easier and it saves that big pot for the other stuff you might need to cook - like gumbo! Then I caught wind of this Grain and Rice Cooker from my husband who works in R&D at Whirlpool and we were both intrigued, we bought one when it was finally released. Boy am I glad we did. I have used it for more than cooking rice and grains, I've used the steamer basket to cook eggs (hard or soft boiled), Potatoes (small or cubed) and the rice/grain cooker to make basmati rice, couscous and lentils. I'm using the fast soak option right now for a bag of great northern beans. I know it's silly but being able to just plop some eggs in the basket and then leave it for 11 minutes is awesome and now I get why people used to have counter top egg cookers. It is a little pricey, but you know, being able to just dump your stuff in and have it weigh it and then dispense the right amount of water is amazing to be honest, and to cook potatoes without having them get waterlogged or need to watch them is great too - just dice them up and put them in the steamer basket or use small potatoes and put them in whole. I used fingerling potatoes and left them whole it took 10 minutes and they were perfect, I smashed them flat and put them in the oven for 'smashed potatoes'. The manual has the recommended steam times for everything from broccoli to whitefish - which I haven't tried yet, but suspect I will soon enough. The only issue I had was with the lentils, and I think they were kind of old since they just disintegrated. I'm going to reserve my judgment on how it cooks lentils after I try a fresh bag of brown lentils (these were old green ones). So far I have not had to tweak any settings, but I might have to do it for lentils at least if I want them to hold their shape.

Wow!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This rice cooker is a lifesaver! This is the first one i have ever own, this Kitchenaid rice cooker is amazing! Its has multiple setting for rice, grains, and beans and it cooks all of them in under an hour. The first thing i made in it was Spanish rice and it literally came out perfect! The water dispensers mesures the water out for you, so no more over cooked rice. I never knew that i needed a rice cooker in my life until now!

The best rice cooker

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As luck would have it, I had the opportunity to try this Kitchenaid Rice and grain cooker just as my other cooker headed off to electronice recycling. Having used this several times already, I can find no fault with this appliance and I have to say it greatly out performs the cooker it replaced that I paid almost double what this costs. Cleanup is so easy - the ceramic pot, steamer insert, and other removable parts can be cleaned in the dishwasher, and the automated cleaning cycle helps loosen and remove any residue on the sides of the bowl. I would highly recommend the KitchenAid Rice and Grain Cooker to anyone looking for an easy, convenient, and smart way to cook healthy, delicious meals at home. It takes away the guesswork when preparing many foods that I will be cooking more often now that it can be hassle-free. This machine will be taking center stage on my counter top as I explore the many ways it can help me easily add more healthful whole grains, rice and beans to my diet!
