As someone who practices a Mediterranean diet, the ability to cook a variety of beans and grains to a variety of textures (soft, firm, regular) is awesome. This is going to be my meal prep best friend. I just made some steel cut oats and they were absolutely perfectly done. The machine is touch screen, it walks you through each step, weighs your grains, adds the perfect amount of water, time varies for desired texture, and ends with a pleasant chime when your food is ready. There is a progress bar on the screen while your food is cooking. You have the ability to delay cooking or keep warm which is nice if you want to prep in the morning for dinner. There is also an included steam basket and the machine can function as a steamer for veggies while you cook your grains. I appreciate the aesthetics of this machine, it looks good on my counter and can easily be stored in a lower cabinet or pantry.

I am the type of person who doesn’t like the idea of using multiple pots and pans and watching over my food like a hawk. I also have a huge family so cooking is always a hassle for me. The kitchen aid rice and grain cooker does most of the work for you which I love. Instructions are easy to follow: Select which type of rice/grain you are using on the digital touch screen, add it into the pot, the machine will weigh it for you on the scale and will dispense the correct amount of water. You should be all done in about 30 minutes. It provides excellent results. The design of this product is so sleek and modern which makes it even better.

I have always cooked my rice on a pan but being so busy all the time with work and mom’s life, I thought of giving this a try. Let me tell you love this machine and I can’t wait to try all the features. I cook for a family of 4, capacity size is perfect for us and now that we are not frying the rice it’s even healthier. The cooker is high quality l, came in well packed and easy to clean. It saves me time. I set it up to a certain time and I can do other things while it’s cooking. Easy to follow instructions. Love this machine. I wish I can download more videos.

It is compact in size and fits perfectly on the counter. It cooks the rice perfectly and makes a dinner very easy to prepare in portions with its touch screen measurement features. Wow I was blown away by all the features this rice cooker is equipped with..it also has a built in steamer which my kids are ecstatic about!! The fact that you don’t have to measure out the water is awesome!! It’s like the Keurig of rice cookers!! An awesome addition to my kitchen! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is something you wouldn’t expect to make a big difference in your food preparation process, but it does! I love how easy it is to set up; that all components are dish washer safe. Very cool technology in this machine- I especially love the “keep warm” feature. Additionally, the capacity of it is great, holds probably 10-12 total servings. This would’ve gotten 5 stars except that I found figuring out how to multitask in this cooker (cooking rice and steaming veggies or seafood) difficult to understand. Will take some trial and error, but it’s well worth it!

I decided that I wanted to eat more grains and beans, so I decided to try it. I know I could do all this on the stove, but I like gadgets that work. It made perfect quinoa and short grain brown rice. For best results pay close attention to the startup menu when starting a cycle, your selections matter. I look forward to trying beans and other grains. The low end capacity works for me. I can see them making a large capacity model in the future…

In theory, this should be a fantastic device. Unfortunately there is no way to manually select any of the useful cook settings. Cook times are only in 5 minute increments and cannot be adjusted. If it undercooks the rice, there are no options to extend the cook time. You cannot adjust the water dispensed or dispense more. After months of trying to get it to do even one batch of rice correctly, we have given up. I contacted support and they are not able to issue a refund or even credit or exchange so I am stuck with a product that is useless. Maybe I can donate to someone that will have better luck than us. Best to get this at a store where you can return it quickly and easily once you realize it doesn't work properly.
