The toaster visually looks great in my kitchen. However, to even get a slice of toast slightly brown, you have to turn it to the highest level. I’m disappointed because it’s visually very appealing, just doesn’t toast/brown/crunch well :(

Its a four slot toaster and even at number 4 or 5, it only toasts one side on each of the four slots. I have to flip the bread to toast the other side. This is the third toaster I buy with the same issue.

I love my GE toaster. At this time GE is my preferred choice in appliances. Style, durability and quality. I like my evened toast, color and not forgetting the look, design and styling - perfect!

Upon placing my first slice of toast in the GE 4 - Slice Toaster, the toast came out perfectly even on both sides and perfectly brown set at the 4 ½ setting, maybe a tinge of a difference but still pleased. A slight odor at the beginning to most likely burn off the elements. After that, the toaster was fine. Easy to use settings illuminated in blue and the dial settings have positive clicks. I opted for the stainless version as I am quite satisfied as to the quality and performance. The large sized toaster slots are very welcome as one can place Texas toast or bagels within with no problems. Quite pop up mode when toast is finished. About three minutes for one slice of toast set at 4 ½ .

Just set up this toaster today. It is a good looking Appliance however, I can see where fingerprints and smudges are going to be a problem all over this toaster. I went through the set of procedures and then made my first two pieces of toast. I had the setting on seven or maximum browning and it took a really long time and unfortunately came out rather light. Haven’t decided whether or not, I will be keeping this toaster yet.

Since there are now three adults living in one space, for the most part, this toaster has been an excellent upgrade from our old two-slice model. The design is a nice touch in our kitchen, with easy to use controls. The performance, however, is inconsistent. We have figured out how to best achieve our desired "toastiness" through patience and tweaking. When the browning is perfect, it is VERY perfect. And, because each of us has a different preference for our toast color, the tweaking becomes necessary. This toaster has been the closest to perfect in performance to date.

So far I like the toaster. My last two were Cuisinarts. They are more expensive but don’t toast evenly. The GE maybe takes a little longer but I like that the bagels or rolls come out crisp on the outside but softer on the inside. The controls however are a little harder to turn.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second GE toaster. We’ve used the two-slice, smaller toaster for over a year now and decided to purchase this larger four-slice model. We’ve used anticipate this larger model to have the same excellent performance as our smaller model.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think the product need more insulation barrier because after you finish toasting or while toasting the toaster is very hot to the touch on my counter top at #3 sitting. Need to be careful around small children. NOT KIDS FRIENDLY.

My fault - I should have checked to see if it took long slices of bread and thick pieces of bread. Not the fault of the toaster - it's all mine.
