We love how quick and great the ice maker is ~ however a week after buying it, it started making a loud screeching sound heard all throughout the house that no matter how much we tried to follow the directions and fix, it always started up again. Literally a week after buying, and now that we are getting it replaced it will be with a refurbished one. So went from a brand new one, to a replacement refurbished one :/

It's great at making ice. However, for such a high price tag, it should also refrigerate the ice. It's inconvenient to have to move the ice to the freezer as it starts to melt. For this reason, I returned mine. Hopefully, the next version can refrigerate the ice, I could but it again.

This product operates as advertised for several months, then demonstrates a decline in productivity akin to legacy pro athletes who just landed their big contract. Unless GE decides to back their product with a reasonable warranty, realize that they know their design brings limited shelf life, and that you should stay away. Less than two years after purchasing ours, it now makes a very expensive water reservoir that conveniently accommodates the kids' photo magnets that the new refrigerators no longer hold.

To start this nugget ice machine was so easy to put together and get started. It made ice so fast, I was super impressed by that! I also love how easy it is to clean. This nugget ice machine is definitely worth every penny and I'm so happy I purchased this. I would definitely recommend this to ice lovers.

I have had it for 2 years now. Great run but now it's on a constant cleaning mode. We unplug and reset and it last for a day. It continues to just filter water causing what ice we have to melt. Not sure what life expectancy is but for the price lasting 2 years just doesn't seem right.

I am not happy at all with the ice machine. Every time it starts to make ice water runs into the ice bin. My friend has the exact same ice maker and it makes the soft ice not nuggets, and now it has stopped making ice at all. It cost way too much to not work right.

I previously had a different nugget ice maker that broke after a couple of months. It was loud and sometimes made a squeaking sound. Now this nugget ice is better quality, the machine is quiet and even can connected from an app via wi-fi. I love that I can control it when I'm not home since I'm gone some days 11+ hours for work and don't want to leave it on the whole time but having ice ready for me after my long shifts is amazing! I also love that the app tells you when it's time to clean/descale! Makes knowing when to do maintenance a breeze. Loving my opal ice maker so far!

This is the best ice ever! Nothing like having this nugget ice to light up your drink of choice! This machine works great! We've had it for about a month now and we are so glad we made this purchase. We don't use any other type of ice but this nugget ice. The GE OPAL Nugget Ice Maker is a very well built machine. We make sure we clean it once a week per recommendation from the manufacturer. When our kids come over to visit, they always ask for a bag of nugget ice to take home. They all love it as much as we do! This is a great product, fits on our kitchen counter perfectly.

Pros are the ice producers is almost exactly like sonic ice as expected. It also produces ice at a reasonable rate although the storage capacity is limited. Corns the maintenance and future maintenance is time-consuming. The directions and getting it to operate online and in the boxing are terrible. There are words that light up on the front of the machine that you would have no idea are there have they not flashed on and off during the installation process. The Wi-Fi directions are useless online although it direct you to utilising them to connect every other GE product with only one exception the icemaker.

Hesitated for a brief moment when I saw the price, then decided good ice was worth it to try. I'm so glad we did!!! We never want to be without it! We purchased for our motor home, but will certainly use it at home after our winter in California is over!
