I bought this for my 66 room hotel - simply for our cold brew coffee station on the breakfast bar. I thought this would be an upgrade compared to just having an ice bucket next to the iced coffee station. My main concern when I purchased the unit was if it would be able to keep up with a busy morning of guests wanting ice for their cold brew coffee or other drinks. I was pleased to discover that it has met my needs and always remains full! We refill the side tank daily - it uses the whole thing each day. My housekeepers also like to come and get a cup of crunchy nugget ice while they are working. Everyone is happy here! I think if a 66 room hotel can keep up with the needs of the staff and guests, then this would be fine for any household! My purchase decision also is based upon our hotel's history with GE. All 66 rooms have GE appliances (fridge & microwave), they have all been very reliable and easy to service when needed. This is not a paid review.

This thing makes the am/pm good ice and it is wonderful. If you are a beverage forward household, this is worth the price tag. I have it set to turn on in the morning and turn off around bedtime through the app. It doesn’t take very long at all for this thing to give you a full pint glass of ice after being turned on. By the time I’m done with my morning coffee routine, I have enough for the first seltzer of the day. I did not purchase the side tank version and I believe the money saved there was worth it. Can it be a little annoying to fill? Yes, only because our Brita pitcher can’t fit in there- I end up using the included ice scoop as like a funnel. My wife and I use ice all day and I would say I refill it about 2 times daily. Fits under standard height cabinets on the counter just fine. The depth is where I feel like it should live on the counter next to the fridge or on its own cart or bar area. So far no issues over the last two weeks and we use it every single day. This is a splurge purchase for sure. But dang, it is a good feeling splurge.

This item is pricey but I love this type of ice. Love that you can set a schedule to make ice because it takes about 30 minutes to get a cups worth. The water can be messy as there is a lot of condensation that drips off when the drawer is pulled out to get ice. Not sure it’s worth the price but now that I have it I’ll definitely use it.

This thing makes ice quick!! Its a plug and play ice making solution. We are having dificulties in storage ice in bags, the ice that came out of the machine has a high level of not crystallized ice, and once in the bag, the ice sticks and form blocks. After 15~20 minutes ice was in the fridge, I punch the bag and ice loose, this has help to keep the ice loose, but this is not something that should keep you away.

Refilling ice cube trays is now a thing of the past. This might have just saved my life. Wife told me next time I put a empty ice cube tray back in the freezer she was going to kill me. I bought this and now I don't use Ice Cube trays, and better yet I'm still alive. Now if I can just find a device to lift the toilet seat for me.

I have had my ice maker for almost a month and so far I am LOVING it. I had read a ton of reviews all over the internet before making my purchase and they made me a little wary but I am SO glad I decided to purchase it. My husband was going to Sonic every week to buy me 2 bags of ice so while this ice maker was not a necessity, it was something I have been wanting for years. The packaging was incredibly sturdy and my machine was in perfect condition. The set up took less than 30 minutes total and in about an hour I had a huge cup of chewy, crunchy ice. I have to fill up the side tank at least once a day because we use a lot of ice but it is so simple to do it's not a problem. I was also worried about the noise the machine would make since several people mentioned it but it is not loud AT ALL. I keep it literally 6 feet away from my desk in my home office and I don't even hear it most of the time. When it's running making ice, there IS noise but it's a low hum and the sound of lovely nugget ice dropping into the bin. I have done the cleaning cycle once so far using 5 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of bleach. It was really quick and easy to do and there was no trace of bleach taste which I was worried about. I downloaded the app and it was very easy to use. It allowed me to set my machine to turn off at 10pm and turn back on at 7am so I always wake up with a full bin of ice. I have zero complaints about my ice maker so far. I did purchase an extended 3 year warranty just in case but I just LOVE this ice machine and I can 100% recommend it for anyone who is on the fence.

We have had this just over 1 1/2 years. It started "acting up" about 5 months ago. It would say "add water" when the tank was full and not make ice. It has since started making this awful LOUD noise periodically during ice making. For the cost, IT IS NOT WORTH IT

Absolutely love this ice maker! I was hesitant due to so many "eh" reviews, bit the bullet and just ordered one with side tank. Been using for over a month now and beats any other ice available! I start it and let it make 2 or 3 gallon bags at a time then shut it down. Its does make a little noise but its an icemaker.... dont recall ever needing to hold meetings or phone conversations etc around an icemaker doing its job. Some people complain about anything and everything.

The nuggets are a cylinder, oblong shape (like the type found in commercial establishments)! The unit can support up to 24 pounds of ice daily and is easily refilled with water. The ice itself tastes clean and fresh thanks to the onboard filter. I am an ice chewer and simply adore this unit. My only complaint is the app; it never did sync with the unit.
