A little bulky and takes up a lot of counter space for smaller kitchens. Maybe a thought is to create an overhead reservoir for the water rather than a side reservoir. The hose and the way it has to feed to the reservoir and how it has to be away from the wall at least 4 inches so the hose won't kink is annoying. Maybe also condense the overall width and depth of it. Works great. Quickly makes ice. Happy it's Bluetooth to make sure I start making ice before I get home from work which is 20 minutes away I'll have a good glass of ice worth for my first drink is a great thing.

My husband purchased this opal ice maker new for me for our 30th Anniversary. I wanted to wait to write a review to give time for an honest opinion. I love it!!! It’s awesome. It is well worth the money. While my daughter was pregnant , I would make several trips To her house to deliver special ice. Thank you GE Opal for an awesome well invested purchase.

I bought this ice machine for my newly remodeled bar area and it's one of the better purchases I have made. I love the nugget ice and the convenience of having ice available for cocktails without having to go into the kitchen is wonderful. I purchased the black stainless steel version and it compliments my bar decor perfectly. I really like the fact that the machine will recycle the water from any melted ice so you're not having to constantly refill the reservoir. Having the refill tank on the side is a huge bonus too. I have my machine connected to wifi and the app is intuitive and easy to use. The only small gripe I would have is that it is a bit noisy when it's making ice. I have gotten used to the hum now so it doesn't bother me as much but it's worth considering the noise when you're thinking about where you're going to locate the machine. Despite the noise factor, I would 100% recommend this ice maker to anyone.

I've had the GE ice maker for almost two months and I have loved it! One of my favorite features is the WIFI connection. I am able to scheduled times for ice to be produced and I receive notifications for cleaning/adding water. Great purchase and I would recommend to everyone!

I absolutely will buy another one when this one quits, if that ever happens. I used to go to sonic at least 5-6 times a week, I don’t now, so it is actually paying for itself. The ice is soft and easy to eat, just the right size. It can be turned off it you need it off and during no use it actually does like a sleep mode where it quits producing, like overnight, then in the morning just open it, move the ice around and it starts producing again. Really nice machine and well worth the money, I am not wealthy but some things are just worth paying extra for. It is General Electric, a good product. I do recommend putting a dish cloth in front where the “drip tray” is to absorb the water that drips when you open the ice bin. It is not necessary, it just makes me feel better that it is there.

We had originally purchased it for our Beach House but liked it so much that we kept it in our primary residence. Easy to use and produces Ice around the clock. You need to make sure that you have water in the unit. It will tell you when to add water, but I like to keep it full. Great for a bar area too.

We have tried 6 GE Opal ice machines and they have all quit around one year. The one we have now just quit at 7 months!! We kept trying in hopes they improved the machines but obviously that is not the case. Very frustrated and will not be buying anymore!!

The ice maker works awesome. Ice is made faster than expected. Pro Tip: Use distilled water. Makes cleaning a breeze and really clear and flavorless ice. Connecting the maker via the app allows it to turn off and on on a schedule saving electricity when not in use. Also, recommend making ice ahead of time and storing it in the freezer if your planning a party

I have followed this product since it came out. I finally decided to get it and me and my family couldn't be happier. Since we have had it, we have not had to use out ice from the freezer. I highly recommend this product. I recommended to a friend who has already purchased her one too.

I love ice. In my water in my coffee in pretty much enhances every cold drink. This machine is amazing! It’s not just ice. It’s the perfect size, perfect texture, even the temperature is just right. Ice is not too hard or too soft. If you love ice in your drink like I do you’ll understand. No regrets here. The only criticism is sometimes the machine makes some pretty loud noises. When this happens we all stop and laugh so no biggie.
