Nugget ice is addictive and this mighty machine provides an unlimited amount! Pros: - best ice ever - able to eat ice with invisalign - makes ice automatically when ice is removed - large water tank, just fill up once a day - cleaning isn't too bad - water tank can go on either side or if you don't use the plastic clip it can be placed behind the machine - light feature is nice for getting ice in the middle of the night Cons: - loud, BUT if kept in the kitchen or away from living room it's not that bad and you don't really notice if after awhile - there is a water tray to catch leaks when the door opens, it does great catching it, just annoying (note the machine doesn't leak, the door is built so when ice melts it's reused and leaves the ice tank... the water in the ice tank leaks when the door opens because the design needs to be tweaked...there are no cracks) - the ice scoop is perfect size, just wish there was a hook, so it doesn't have to sit on top or the water leak tray - price point is high, but if you are an ice person or working from home then it's worth the expense - I do wish for this price that some of these cons didn't exist, but I am happy with my investment I have not used the app, so I cannot comment on the wifi connection or app.

At first I thought I had to send it back but reading everyone’s tips and reviews, I had to wait a few days until it reached its full potential. Now it Makes soo much ice to the point where I don’t know where to put it all! Makes the best ice in terms of size and ease. I also enjoy the Bluetooth connectivity so that I can make ice just by the reach of my phone and also put it on an ice making schedule so I don’t always have to worry whether it’s making enough ice for me throughout the day/night. Great product that I use daily!

Easy to set up. Clear instructions on how to do the initial cleaning and installation. Perfect ice at home! This has helped us drink more water because we have awesome ice to eat along with it. The amount that it produces is great for the 2 of us. You may need to ration the servings if you have 4 or more people using this regularly. Still would recommend and so glad I received it for Christmas!

It never occurred to me to get one of these until I purchased one for my office. I liked it so much, I got one for home. Absolutely love it. Wish I had not waited. The only thing I would caution about is that it does make noise. So would not want it on the countertop of our kitchen which is part of a large open floor plan with the living room.

My friend had one and him/his family use it constantly. I decided to get one and wasted my time with two units. The first unit had a large screeching/grinding sounds (1.5 weeks after install) when the unit would first begin to make ice. The second unit would continuously cycle through making ice/defrosting but never made a nugget of ice

I use my GE Opal Nugget Ice Maker every single day, and it’s been one of my favorite kitchen additions. It was super easy to set up right out of the box, and it fits perfectly on my countertop without taking up too much space. The ice capacity is great—it holds plenty throughout the day—and it’s surprisingly quiet while running. I love that I can schedule it from my phone so the ice is ready for my morning iced coffee, which has seriously been taken to the next level! It’s easy to clean, convenient to use, and honestly just makes life better. Highly recommend for any iced drink lover!

Not only does this appliance look great, it works great as well. This makes the perfect ice to satisfy all your drinking needs. It's easy to use and install. Comes with an excellent user guide, which provides good clear instructions for everything. It's quite attractive with the clear plastic and brushed stainless steel, it fits right in with all my other appliances. It's much quieter than expected with just barely an audible hum during operation. This is a rather large (and heavy) ice maker but it fit perfectly fine underneath my cabinets. This unit is not refrigerated, so as ice collects into the bin it will slowly melt, however the water gets recycled back into the machine and will be reused to make more ice. My only complaint is how long it takes to complete an ice making cycle, it takes literally hours for it to fill the bin with ice. Not a big issue but you definitely need to plan ahead if you're going to need ice, however if you dump the ice into a bag occasionally and freeze it you'll always have ice on-hand.

The instructions are very helpful and detailed enough for a smooth and easy setup. The ice machine is has a comfortable sound level to where you forget that it's on until you either look at and see the light on or you hear the ice drop. It makes the nugget ice as you expect, it was easy to download the app to control by phone and the side tank is easy to take off to refill and put back on. The side tank holder works perfectly on attaching to the ice maker. The ice maker fits comfortably under your average sized space under cabinets in an older home like mine. You'll have maybe less than an inch left of space under the cabinet once you push the ice machine under the cabinet and that's with the tank attached. The machine can hold a large amount of ice in the bin and keep it frozen until used as long as you keep the machine turned on. My family and I are really happy with it. I love the black stainless, it looks Sooo Goooood!

Makes ice fast. Love the nugget ice like sonic has. The water tank was not well thought out. Holds 3/4 a gallon water. Since you buy water in gallon jugs you always have some left over. Would have been nice for the tank to hold more than a gallon of water.so when it was low you are able to add a whole gallon at a time. Otherwise I live this ice maker

The Opal is working fine but the side tank is not. If everything worked, I would give it a 5*. It worked for a few days but then it stopped feeding water into the machine, and it allows the pump to run dry. We just keep having to put water in the machine rather than in the tank.
