The ice maker makes awesome nugget ice, and does so fairly quickly, to use as drinking ice for our family of 5. It's pretty loud and the defrost cycle runs quite often though. On top of that we regularly have had ice come in the consistency of shaved ice, which the kids love but is quite annoying when you're expecting pellets. Overall we like it, but wonder at times if our specific unit is a dud due to the shaved ice situation.

This is our favorite purchase over the last year especially while working from home. Our refrigerator ice maker did not quite have enough output, and this one is easy to use and makes softer nugget ice which we love! We are in hot, humid Houston and this ice is wonderful to have! While it does take up some counter space, it looks very nice. It is great for a kitchen or a bar area. It is pretty quiet, gives off some sound but it's nothing more than white noise. We are very pleased with this ice maker!

Makes great ice when it’s working. I’m on #6. These things are horribly unreliable. Good search it. Pumps fail because haier uses cheap pumps. The fans will go as well and it will stop producing ice. If you get a year you are lucky. Buy an extended warranty because you will need it.

This GE Opal nugget ice maker is honestly one of my favorite purchases ever. I've had refrigerator ice makers, and I had a countertop bullet ice maker when I bought this one. But I use a LOT of ice! I like my beverages very cold and no ice maker seemed able to keep up with me. Yet I have not run out of ice even once since buying the GE Opal. I had to fill my old bullet ice maker several times a day and still never had enough ice. But with the side tank on the Opal I only have to refill every few DAYS and always have plenty of ice. Not only that, it's the best kind of ice. These little nuggets have staying power, they don't melt quickly and I often still have a third to half of my glass of ice left when I go to refill my drink! I couldn't be more pleased with this machine. Sure it's a bit more expensive than some other countertop ice makers, but if you use ice like I do and are frustrated with constantly running out, it's worth every penny!

I have been wanting this icemaker for a while and I finally got it for Mother’s Day this year. I am a huge ice chewer and love sonic ice and this is exactly like it. It made ice for the first time in like 20 minutes if you were on the fence about purchasing this I highly recommend that you just do it, you won’t regret it

I have wanted a nugget ice maker and this is the perfect one if you aren’t wanting to spend thousands on an under cabinet one. Makes ice quick and keeps ice flowing so you never run out. Our friends and family love coming over so they can fill their cups up with it.

Finally! Not only does it make that tiny ice that my wife loves, but it is also easy to clean. Our old countertop ice maker broke after about 4 years of use. It was IMPOSSIBLE to keep clean, as mold and grime would develop in spots you couldn’t reach. This GE unit is perfect. Perfect ice, removable water reservoir (no more water pitchers), and no more grime.

Been using for several weeks now. Unit arrived well packed - no Issues. Set-up was easy. Easy cleaning process prior to first use (Suspect Just in case sort of thing) - just needed a little bit of bleach. First ice batch was fine - no bleach taste from cleaning. Keeps two heavy Ice users with ice. Easy fill side water container (We fill from filtered refrigerator door water). Ice is moist (Not as cold as from the freezer - same as - ice from Sonic we were getting. Small drips from hopper when opened, but the small tray catches it - then evaporates from there - no issue. Not located next to our sink, so I think I will be getting the extension tubes to make the routine recommended cleaning / bleach cycling easier (Just running a couple of cups of bleach water through the system and draining it out - no biggie).

I love this product. It fits so much ice in it and it was super easy to install. It is a little loud when making the ice, but it’s not bad enough to disturb anyone. It’s pretty big, and a little bit heavy, but it’s definitely manageable. It’s super easy to use since it connects to my phone, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my college apartment.

We had the firstbuild edition of the ice maker, and loved it! Sadly, we didn’t take great care of it and it died. Obviously, we couldn’t live without our nugget ice, so after a little research (pretty much just between the models), we got this one coming! It arrived quickly, produced ice almost immediately, and has been amazing. It’s super quiet compared to the last one, and so many features we disliked have been addressed. Much more user friendly and definitely worth getting. We haven’t gotten the app to work, but that didn’t matter at all to us, so it’s not a negative on our part. Would definitely recommend! Just make sure to take care if it.
