Bought one for work without the side water feeder and everyone loved it. We love the Sonic style ice nuggets and have wanted that at home like forever. Freezer ice always tastes bad no mater what you do to try and improve it. We have no issues with the sound, it's quieter than or refrigerator ice maker, even quieter than our silent dishwasher. Glad we added the side water tank, we fill it from a triple filter r/o water that sits under the sink so it rarely needs cleaning and the ice is a hit with everyone. I should have bought it years ago. Maybe a luxury item but we deserve a little luxury every now and then.

My family could not be happier with nugget ice maker. With our family of 5 ice addicts we are filling the water twice a day. Only took 1 star as it does have a machine noise that is definitely noticeable. If you are sensitive to that and do not have a place you can put away, this will not be for you

The Opal 2 is exactly what I'd hoped it would be. The nugget ice is hard and perfectly shaped. For just my wife and I it makes more than enough. I will say that when it's making ice it's a bit load to have in a main open area. I had an outlet put into our pantry next to a sink. So it's right next to our kitchen. This worked out perfectly. If you have a large family and need a lot of ice at once, this won't do it - unless you buy 2. For me… worth every cent. I haven't used the fridge ice dispenser once.

So, I have wanted one of these for some time. I have always liked chewing on ice, much to my parents' chagrin, and have a predilection for quality pellet ice - you know, the amazing ice you get at many restaurants. We also just got into making Tiki cocktails, and many of them use large amounts of ice to make the beverage super cold and enjoyable. So, it was time to make it happen, and I can report that this machine is amazing. Not only does this machine make the ice I love, it allows me to use my phone to program a schedule for it to do so. It's great to keep energy use down to a minimum, so it only makes ice when we need it. I also like how the water from the ice as it melts goes into the reservoir, so we don't waste it. The machine doesn't have a "freezer" in the ice compartment, so the ice will melt if it's not consumed - I like that we aren't wasting energy with that, and we just focus on making fresh ice for relatively immediate use. Super easy to clean and set up. Great product. Glad I finally got it!

Love the ice maker, love the soft crunchy opal ice! A few things I would do differently is make an option for the drip tray to have a mat that fits that for water drops, inside the ice box to make that box bigger to make sure the water at the bottom is not noticeable, and try to see if you can make it quieter.. Other than those things it's been great!

We love it when it is working and not screaming like a banshee. We had it for about 4 months before it started making noise and we would have to unplug it to get it to stop. It now happens 2 times or more a day. Working with the warranty company now. I will update with the results if possible. The side tank is a must, I can't imagine filling without it.

I bought this ice machine for my newly remodeled bar area and it's one of the better purchases I have made. I love the nugget ice and the convenience of having ice available for cocktails without having to go into the kitchen is wonderful. I purchased the black stainless steel version and it compliments my bar decor perfectly. I really like the fact that the machine will recycle the water from any melted ice so you're not having to constantly refill the reservoir. Having the refill tank on the side is a huge bonus too. I have my machine connected to wifi and the app is intuitive and easy to use. The only small gripe I would have is that it is a bit noisy when it's making ice. I have gotten used to the hum now so it doesn't bother me as much but it's worth considering the noise when you're thinking about where you're going to locate the machine. Despite the noise factor, I would 100% recommend this ice maker to anyone.

We love this machine for our RV. It makes that good nugget ice! Great for campfire parties and get-togethers. We like how it recycles the melting ice back into the reservoir so no mess. About 12-15 min for the ice is available which is great. Highly recommend. 5 out of 5

After about a month and a half of working fine the ice maker went into Defrosting mode and hasn't made ice since. Attempted to clean it multiple times, but alas, when we turn it back on it cycles back and forth from Making Ice to Defrosting about every 20 minutes and has never made ice again.

This ice maker is amazing!! The set up was so simple, although I was heartbroken to disinfect it before I had my first taste of my fancy ice! Be responsible, sanitize your machine first. The first ice really does pop out in 20 minutes, but it's just a few pieces- give this bad boy an hour and you've got a full glass- a few hours and you're good for a party! We hooked our machine up to the app, which was also super easy, and I set up a schedule for it to run. Now the machine turns on for me at 6 am and I'm ready for my first glass for frosty, crisp, ice water at 7:00. I run it until about 7 at night and then just take whatever is leftover in the bin and throw it in a plastic bag in the freezer to save for a rainy day, or another party. The price tag may be scary for some, but it's worth it! Perfectly crunchy ice in your own kitchen? Priceless!
