This ice maker is the best! We had a smaller counter ice maker before this one. It was so small and only held about one large ice tea cup worth of ice. This ice maker is amazing. I love love love the crunchy ice and it makes enough ice for several large ice teas (a must in my family)

We love our new Opal Icemaker. It was very east to set up and makes great ice! We wanted nugget ice for a long time but didn't want to purchase one of the big undercounter ice makers. The size is perfect on our counter and looks great next to our GE Monogram side by side refrigerator and other GE appliances.

I’m really enjoying my new ice maker. It makes ice fairly quickly and remains frozen for a good amount of time. its compact shape fits perfectly next to my fridge. The noise is minimal which is great for my dogs. My previous ice maker was too loud and would drive my animals crazy. Thanks GE for a great ice maker

I bought this for my 66 room hotel - simply for our cold brew coffee station on the breakfast bar. I thought this would be an upgrade compared to just having an ice bucket next to the iced coffee station. My main concern when I purchased the unit was if it would be able to keep up with a busy morning of guests wanting ice for their cold brew coffee or other drinks. I was pleased to discover that it has met my needs and always remains full! We refill the side tank daily - it uses the whole thing each day. My housekeepers also like to come and get a cup of crunchy nugget ice while they are working. Everyone is happy here! I think if a 66 room hotel can keep up with the needs of the staff and guests, then this would be fine for any household! My purchase decision also is based upon our hotel's history with GE. All 66 rooms have GE appliances (fridge & microwave), they have all been very reliable and easy to service when needed. This is not a paid review.

Hi - I just this morning unboxed, cleaned and set up my new Opal 2.0 ice maker. It was easy and directions were clear. It took a bit of timer to first clean with a bleach solution and follow that up with rinsing flushes (3) to clear bleach. Started making my first batch of ice. Comes out runny wat first but within 30 minutes everything is working. Ice tastes (and chews) great. I bough the model with the side tank and glad I did as nearly the whole tank emptied in first round. I will want to keep that full so I keep making ice. I know it says not to put finished ice in freezer, but I’m going to try it anyway and see how it does. We use a lot of ice and always want to have enough on hand. We have a reverse osmosis system so expecting excellent store-bought quality or better. I’ll repost after a few weeks and let you know how it’s going.

Ice maker makes ice very fast and perfect ice size. Ice box fills up fast. Does tend to melt if not used quickly, but makes new ice just as quick. We are very pleased with this ice maker and have told several friends how great it is and they also have purchased one also.

I really wanted this to work out. I loved the ice it made but had to return the first one due to it not working properly right out of the box. The second one returned less than 30 days for the same reason. The ice maker would continually go into defrost mode and melt all the ice it made. There was plenty of space behind the unit and the sides were unobstructed.

At first I thought I had to send it back but reading everyone’s tips and reviews, I had to wait a few days until it reached its full potential. Now it Makes soo much ice to the point where I don’t know where to put it all! Makes the best ice in terms of size and ease. I also enjoy the Bluetooth connectivity so that I can make ice just by the reach of my phone and also put it on an ice making schedule so I don’t always have to worry whether it’s making enough ice for me throughout the day/night. Great product that I use daily!

This thing is a beast that and putting out ice within 10 minutes. It isn’t loud at all (low-volume hum while making ice). Didn’t realize the obsession with nugget ice but now I see the light. It is extremely high quality and appears built to last. While cleaning/maintenance is a required bit more than most other appliances, it’s well worth it. This machine consistently puts out perfect nugget ice. It looks premium and perfectly matches our stainless kitchen appliances. The internal reservoir alone is enough to fill the ice bin. We keep the external tank packed away and plan to bring it out for parties (just 2 of us otherwise). Looking forward to gourmet nugget ice for years to come!

So far I love it it does take a while for the bin to fill up with ice. I have tried different types of water and some water makes the ice hard so now I am just using drinking water. I am trying to build a stock pile of ice because I eat about 8 24oz cups a day. it’s very quiet unlike the reviews I read. Hope it last a long time to recoup the money I paid. The only complaint is they don’t include a water filter which is a stupid thing.
