We bought an original Opal ice maker, and it served us well. When it finally died, we upgraded to the Profile. The large tank on the side makes it so much easier, and scheduling the making of ice with my phone is a real plus. We still have plenty of ice the next morning when it starts up. We love this ice maker!!

The ice is soft just as advertised. We have pellet ice at work, and I would always fill my Yetti prior to going home. I don't now, because the ice at home is so much better. The only issue is it's a little loud while making ice, but I've learned to tune it out. Worth the price!!

We are thrilled with our counter top ice maker!! Works perfectly and makes the best ice ever! We are “ice snobs” and have always enjoyed that soft chewy ice and would stop at stores to buy drinks that we knew had that kind of ice. Now we can have it at home. Easy to set up although instructions were a little unclear and so easy to operate. Wayyyy less money than the commercial machines and really all you need on a daily basis.

Great icemaker, the nugget ice is lovely, and the production rate is really good, too. Though I do wish they'd add a UV light inside the storage tank and ice bin too, more germicidal stuff never goes amiss, and it would cut down on how often I'd have to clean it.

Everything from the unpacking instructions, to the set up and use was quick and easy. Fits great under our cabinets, is sleek and does not present as an eye sore appliance! Not super loud and the side reservoir ensure there is ice always made. If ice is a necessity in your home, you have to get one!

Ok, pricey, but yet SO WORTH IT!! The machine is running everyday in our house of 5 (2 adults 3 kids). It's been such a relief to have extra ice (the best type too) along with the fridge ice that just can't keep up. Easy to clean. Easy to install. Wonderful product!!

i am so upset with this machine. the ice itself is lovely. however, i cannot enjoy it due to the high pick shrieking that this device makes. i have tried to trouble shoot everything! no luck. this was so close to being perfect - instead, it's a torture device!

I upgraded to the 2.0 Opal and I'm enjoying it more than the older module. It's taking up less counter space than the first module and I like the look of the Smart HQ app for the Opal 2. Not sure if it's me but it seems to keep ice longer when its not in Making Ice Mode. Also like that the clean function is on the front and not the back.

I was excited to use this item. It worked great for about 4 weeks. Soon after it started making an awful noise. I did the suggested descaling and cleaning at about week three. at about 4 weeks, it started making an awful noise. After researching how to remedy, I discovered hundreds of other reviews of people having the same issues. I didn't want to deal with it long term so I returned the machine. This was the top rated ice maker on Consumer Reports but I'm not sure why with so many people having issues with them.

This thing makes ice fast, and it is good ice. I have tried other brands, but nothing compares. Has Wi-Fi, so you can schedule it to come on in the morning and before you get home from work. Keeps up with lots of people, so it is also good for parties. It is quite large so get ready for it to take up counter space, and it is heavy. The cleaning routine is not hard but you need to move it near a sink to drain it. The nose could be quieter but it is not annoying.
