Received the Opal Nugget Ice Maker quicker than expected. Setting up takes a little bit of time due to the cleaning of the internals and the tanks. Once completed, and filled, I had ice within the hour and a full bin in about 4 hours. While the machine is a bit pricy, the quality of the ice and quantity output is really great. The only thing I wish is that the unit came with a water filter to get started with and try out. I purchased them afterwards and will begin use when I descale and clean next time. Highly recommended for Nugget Ice lovers!

So far I love it it does take a while for the bin to fill up with ice. I have tried different types of water and some water makes the ice hard so now I am just using drinking water. I am trying to build a stock pile of ice because I eat about 8 24oz cups a day. it's very quiet unlike the reviews I read. Hope it last a long time to recoup the money I paid. The only complaint is they don't include a water filter which is a stupid thing.

Make sure to read the instructions while setting up and realize it takes time to set up and clean. It's truly worth your time. After that, the ice is perfect! The side tank will let you go a long time before needing to refill and it's very convenient. My family and friends love this ice, lol. As the instructions say, there are many different noises during ice making but no need to worry about them. As a side note, I'm using the filter sold by Opal and using only filtered water from my refrigerator to make ice. So far, very happy!

In general I love this machine, I find it's noise level acceptable, and love the quality of the ice. The main cons are the price, and how cleaning requires me to move the machine around to access the drain hoses. That said I used to barely use ice in my drinks and I bought this for a crushed ice replacement in cocktails. Now I use ice in nearly every cold drink I have at home. There are now other nugget ice makers out there for less expense, but this one is really much better build quality.

Worked great until it didn't. Machine would run, showing "defrosting," until we turned it off. When it DID make ice, it was great! Then we had more issues with it, and it has quit working all together. It will "run," but no ice ever makes. Machine has been cleaned properly per manual. Overpriced hunk of junk!

I am writing this because. I've already had the earlier model and it wasn't as well designed as this 2,0. The ice bin is better and side by side it makes ice faster and is much less noisy as compared to the earlier model. The knowing that the unit is defrosting is an added feature that I think I will like.

I wish I had this ice maker al my life. My kids say it's the best part of our house. It does a great job and keeping up with my family and friends. The little nugget ice is soooo good. My co-workers always ask me to bring them a cup of ice too! I highly recommend this product!

Bought this since the family wanted pebble ice. Would not buy this again. In about a month the unit is so noisy that you have to unplug it at night. It makes squealing noises that are so loud, you cannot even watch TV over the noise. It will absolutely wake you up during the night while you are sleeping.

Great ice maker. I was looking for a countertop ice maker for my cottage because our water is not drinkable. Yes the ice marker is a little bigger and pricey then others but it's worth it!! Makes great ice. It does stick together if you put it directly i. The freezer ice bucket. If you put it in a gallon ziplock bag it keeps well. Highly recommend!!

Ice maker has a sensor that tells it to start making more when the bin starts getting low on ice. The ice falls into the bin in a pile and doesn't really spread out, so the pile gets tall in the middle and "tricks" the machine into thinking the bin is full, so it stops making ice and that ice just gets melty.
