This is our first ice maker to use and love the ice it makes along with the ability to set a schedule for the making of ice. We have ice ready when arriving home after work each day along with weekends. It does however make more noise than expected. Overall a really nice unit.

The ice maker was easy to setup, and updated the software, I really enjoy being able to control certain features via wifi, and I made my decision to buy this product as opposed to others base on YouTube rating, it is a bit pricy but after using it I think it worths the price

I have used these ice makers for awhile. I started off with the first nugget ice machine that came out. I love nugget ice and I thought that by buying this machine it would save me money. Well...I always get the warranty and I am glad I do because my machine usually starts to act like a little butt and that's when I have to call and use my warranty. By then it is almost to the end of my warranty so GE or who ever the warranty is through always tells me that they no longer make that ice machine so I have to get the next upgraded version or the next generationis what GE says. Which would be nice in most cases except for this last time. I really liked my ice maker and the look, color and size of the machine. But of course they don't make that one and I was upset because I really did like that one. But if I wanted my ice I had no choice but to upgrade to the next generation. So I did. Now I am really missing my machine. Don't get me wrong this one is nice to, but I really liked my last one. To end this story, I love my ice and I love having a nugget ice machine so you can take it and learn to love it or figure it out to get your own ice!!

Got the ice maker, did some extra sterilizing and cleaning cycles because, HER. Moved it to its permanent location and plugged it in. Ran all night making ice, but didn't seem to be making a lot and we were getting the "Add Water" light when the tank was about half-full. We started trying to troubleshoot when SHE double-checked the instructions and said to check the tank hose and to be sure that it's flat on the counter. I did and, low and behold, dummy me plugged the power in before connecting the tank hose and I ran the hose =over= the bundled power cord behind the machine. Once I re-routed the hose so it was flat on the counter, it started working property and has continued to do so the past almost 3 weeks. Yes, there are other ice makers that are a lot cheaper, but I don't think any of them can touch this one. =She's= happy, so that's all that really matters!

The Opal 2.o has exceeded al expectations. It provide high quality nugget ice and does so in quick fashion! I have entertained three times with 8-10 guests and did not run out of ice at any time for several drinks per person! Very happy with this purchase.

I was so in love with this ice machine. I love chewing on ice so this came in very handy. It was working great, however all of a sudden it stop making ice. Done everything it shows online from cleaning, to resetting, to disconnect for couple of day and still nothing. Very disappointed that it's so expenses and the warranty is only a year. Too expensive to have such horrible warranty. It's like it knows as soon as the year is up it will die on you.

Love the ice it makes however, the amount of consistent taking apart, cleaning for almost 2 days & the noise it makes, it’s a question on whether I’d pay this much again. The capacity is good, the installation is medium in effort & the size is about right for what it’s production of ice.

I am SO jealous of all the great reviews for this product. We have been working with GE Customer Support for nearly 3 months now on either repairing or replacing our Opal icemaker. We purchased this in May and by August, it had stopped making ice. GE sent us another one (took nearly two months to arrive). This one (apparently a refurbished unit) didn't work either! We loved the wonderful Sonic-like ice during the FOUR MONTHS it actually worked.

Best counter top ice maker I’ve ever owned. (Had 2 different brands that were half the price but I’m glad I pulled the trigger on the GE finally) First GE lasted 2 years. I didn’t clean it very often. Just bought a second I will take better care of.

Ok, pricey, but yet SO WORTH IT!! The machine is running everyday in our house of 5 (2 adults 3 kids). It’s been such a relief to have extra ice (the best type too) along with the fridge ice that just can’t keep up. Easy to clean. Easy to install. Wonderful product!!
