There is nothing NOT to LOVE about this appliance - NUGGET ICE in our HOME! No more driving to Sonic and buying their ice!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I highly recommend purchasing the one with the additional reservoir so you do not have to worry about filling it frequently!

I like the machine a lot. It makes the perfect ice and is what I bought it for. Perfect for a family and a great size for countertop, man cave etc. We use it everyday! However, I have a couple issues. The first is when I opened it up the the tray that goes under the machine to keep water off of the countertop was bent. It still works but I feel like I need a new one since the machines are so expensive. Second, which is the main issue, is the machine squeaks whenever it’s making the ice. About every 10 seconds it makes a squeaking noise which is aggravating. As long as the company takes care of it for me while it’s under warranty I’m fine with it. I’m about find out if they’re good for their word. I’m going to call them in the next few days to get it straightened out one way or the other. All in all I love it, but the reason I give it 3 stars is because of the 2 issues and I would give it 5 stars as long as they take care of the issues.

I love it! I just hope the ice keeps up during the summer. Currently, the weather is cold, and I’m not sure how well it will do in the summer due to the ice slightly melting over night when it’s not making ice. The unit is not “refrigerated “ so the ice naturally melts if it’s not in use and not actively making the ice.

We have had this for about a week now. It takes about the amount of space we expected. It makes ice very quickly and we really like the size. It is a little louder than I would have liked but it is tolerable. It is a little heavier than I expected which makes it harder to clean, I don’t have a place near the sink.

The ice is amazing. I have the opal 1 as well, and that one is amazing. But I like the look of the opal 2.0 way better, but there are some issues with the opal 2.0 the thing squeals all the time. So if it didn’t squeal all the time it would be a 4 to 5 star rating from me. They did do some good upgrades from the last model but obviously they haven’t figured out the icing up issue. From what I’ve read the squealing is do to icing up and then it defrosts itself to fix it. But it spends more time defrosting than making ice ,and let’s be honest for how much these things cost they should be in better working order especially when you make a 2.0.

I think it’s a wonderful ice make especially if you love nugget ice. The amount of ice it produces is great, and love the side tank with it. My only flaw and reason for 4 stars is the weekly descaling notification that we get, and having to clean it have it sit for 18 plus hours. Other than that it’s an excellent ice machine.

Cons first. It’s heavy. You might need help with it. It’s big. Bigger than I expected so make sure you have the counter space. Now the Pros. It’s QUIET. It’s fast. The interior lite was a pleasant surprise. I hope it’s durable because it will be used!

Didn't think I would use it much, bought it mainly for my better half. I absolutely love it!! I find that I'm drinking more water during the day using nugget ice. We find ourselves making fruit drinks like Brazilian Lemonade every day usually twice a day. I love it, I can't say enough. It is easy o set up and instructions are easy to follow.

Here are the major differences: The casing corners are now rounded, The circle LED indicator has been replaced by "touch-sensitive" buttons on the front, as well as distinct word labels stating what the appliance is doing. This includes replacing the rear slider switch for cleaning with touch-button functionality in the front - The plastic ice bin no longer has holes along the rear-bottom; a spring-loaded hole has been added that opens only when the bin is slid all the way into the appliance, thereby preventing drips when fully removing the bin - Overall, the appliance does appear quieter, though that's more subjective - Biggy: when draining the water while cleaning, it completely drips.

We had originally purchased it for our Beach House but liked it so much that we kept it in our primary residence. Easy to use and produces Ice around the clock. You need to make sure that you have water in the unit. It will tell you when to add water, but I like to keep it full. Great for a bar area too.
