My family pitched in and bought me the Opal for our 30th wedding anniversary. I could not be happier. I am a picky ice person and this ice is amazing, everything promised! The unit fits on our counter, is easy to use and make ice quickly. I love this product! Thank you.

Ice maker worked fine. Only used distilled water. Kept up regularly with cleaning. One day it went in to defrost and wouldn't cycle back on . Followed troubleshooting steps but had no luck. Still waiting for Onpoint to reply back for warranty claim. I've only had it 8 months on 12 month warranty. It's going to be very disappointing if they don't repair or replace.

You cant go wrong buying this ice machine. I bought this ice machine for my wife for her birthday and she loves it. My wife would always bring bags of ice home from Chick-Fil-A and Sonic all the time and got to a point that i was tired of that. Since i purchased the ice machine it has work flawless. The ice machine is very quite and makes ice super fast. We love the app for the ice machine so we can turn it on before we get home and have ice ready when we want it. The ice is soft and great size its in between Chick-Fil -A and Sonic ice just the right size. One thing i have noticed is that if you keep the led light on in the ice maker it will melt the ice faster so i just keep it off but that's all. You can also set schedules with the app on what time you want to make ice. All in all great product and well worth the purchase.

I love the ice but the maker requires a lot of work. You have to descale and clean out the lines at least 2 times a month. If not it will make the most awful sounds, it will leak. Thankfully, we have learned how to take it apart to do a deep clean after a year and I have to say it was needed. The lines were disgusting even with us cleaning it once a month. Now we have learned it needs to be cleaned more frequently. Other than that it makes the best ice and it's connected to my phone so I can do diagnostics and even set schedules.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First impression: This unit is sleek and modern looking. It would look great in any kitchen. It is big! It turns out our upper cabinets were installed lower than is standard so it didn’t fit in the original spot I had in mind but can sit on a freestanding cabinet we had. It is heavy so initially moving it to drain into the sink during sanitizing was sort of a pain. The ice it makes is awesome. I love nugget Ice! It cools down drinks fast and it is nice to eat. It made ice pretty quickly though it did start out wet and slushy at the start of the cycle. Read your manual carefully at the initial setup. I accidentally attached the wrong hose to the side tank and made a huge leak (all my fault—this was CLEARLY labeled and emphasized in the directions). I think the sanitizing process will seem easy now that I’ve done it once but I felt a little overwhelmed the first time through. Operation is easy and straightforward. Overall, I highly recommend this unit if you are in the market for a countertop ice maker!

I am very disappointed in the Opal 2. I had the previous version Opal 1, I had to replace it twice during the first year because it kept breaking down. I love the ice though so I thought I would try the newer version. Unfortunately the side tank is smaller and needs constant refilling and the ice maker produces ice much slower.

Broke down and paid for the ice machine, and I have no regrets. The ice come quick and plentiful. Quiet when making ice and only weird noises, which are normal when defrosting itself. Will definitely invest in side tank when have more room for it

By far the best nugget ice maker I have tried. It is the quietest machine yet. Definitely get the optional water container. It has three light settings that make for a great nightlight. Makes ice quickly. I am so glad I spent the extra money for this machine.

I wanted a nugget ice maker and saw this model. It does exactly what it says, makes great nugget ice. I leave it on all the time and so far no issues. It is a little louder than a regular ice maker because of how it makes the ice but have it on a laundry room counter so its not an issue for me. Love the side tank so I don't have to constantly add water. Really like this ice maker so far

I absolutely positively love the Opal 2.0 i love 🧊 i use it all day every day of my life. The opal is easy to clean, even easier to use, tastes great, and I have no clue how I lived without it. You get soft chewable ice that tastes great and is always available without taking up all your freezer room. This device is the best and as long as GE makes it i will own it! Thank you GE you are the best!!!
