This is our third attempt with this ice maker, and the third time we have returned it. This one did not work properly from arrival, so perhaps it was damaged in shipping (although the packaging showed no obvious damage). But given that we have tried two of these before, and they both failed within three weeks, we are inclined to think it is a design issue. Which is a shame because this machine makes our favorite kind of ice, it runs quieter than the non-GE ice maker we have replaced it with, and the side reservoir is great for our large family. But oh-for-three is hard to argue with.

Love most of it. Great ice, constant feed. The reservoir shouldn't cost extra. Should come with the first filter. Watery. The tray is a poor excuse for dripping when it opens. Should hold more ice. Just a couple of people use it at a party and the ice is gone. The Wifi app is underwhelming. Should have more and better features.

Noisy, obnoxious, high maintenance appliance. Maybe got one year of use when it finally blew up. Bad compressor or something. Our unit did not allow for waterl connection like fridge ice maker. If water was less than half full, the noises began but ultimately went full time disturbing.

I bought this when my first generation Opal icemaker quit making ice. This is an awesome improvement over the first generation. it is much quieter, makes ice faster and also has Wi-Fi rather than the previous bluetooth connection for setting the ice making schedule on the machine.

As advertised! Soft ice in my opinion is one of the best inventions ever. Spending the purchase price was something I struggled with for some time however I do not regret it one bit. Great unit, amazing soft ice, and a very attractive appliance to boot. Not for everyone, but for those who enjoy this type of ice, this unit will not disappoint!

I love crunchable ice and have always searched for fast food places with that ice available mainly because I’ve chewed my ice after finishing the drink. Now I don’t have to search for places with that ice in their drinks as I have my own crunchable ice maker. It’s an unbelievable product: quiet, fast icemaking and the bin stays full all day. Best of all, my family enjoys the availability of ice that seems to keep tea and soft drinks colder than cubes.

Nugget ice is a cruel mistress but Opal makes it possible to have everything you need right at home. No more late night trips to sonic, or running around town looking for the beloved ice. I had the original but she quit on me, it was due to my own misgivings. The harsh water of central California could be to blame as well, but I could have tried harder. I swore when I replaced her with 2.0 that I would do everything I could to ensure a long life. Just ordered a five pack of filters and cleaning kits and the distilled water is on the way. Nugget ice is important in our house to restore peace and good function. Opal make that possible. Just treat her good and you'll hear the low hum of her pump from across the house like clock-work.Or you can even set a schedule using the app, as well as check on what stage of ice making shes in. 10 out of 10. RECOMMEND

We love the ice this little machine produces. It does not happen at rocket speed but it has managed to keep up with my household of four (two adults and two kids) and other visiting friends. It's compact and fits nicely on the countertop. My only complaint is that our machine is loud. It may be just this particular one or all of them I don't know. But definitely recommend it.

I am astonished at the volume and quality of the ice that this puppy makes! It’s not for a person who just wants to plug and play— my guess is that the nugget ice machine isn’t there yet, at least not the home version at a reasonable price. This guy needs frequently filled manually, and regularly sanitized and descaled. But great ice requires a great commitment and this bad boy is worth it!

The ice maker was easy to setup, and updated the software, I really enjoy being able to control certain features via wifi, and I made my decision to buy this product as opposed to others base on YouTube rating, it is a bit pricy but after using it I think it worths the price
