Wish it would have worked

This was a gift from my family. They spent a lot of money on this product and not worth it. It is great when it worked the one time. I had issues with it not making ice from the beginning. We cleaned it multiple times thinking there was something in the filter but it did not help. It would work for a short time and then not make ice at all. It only made a full container of ice once in the past year. Very disappointing for the cost of the product.

Machine broke quickly

We received the ice maker and followed all set up instructions. The ice maker worked for 6 days before it broke and no longer created ice. We tried all recommended fixes and the machine was deemed ineffective. Super frustrating for the price and excitement around the product.

Don't use filter can't use after1st true cleaning

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I would have love to know that when it tells you to do a cleaning for the first time that you can't put the filter back in because the machine doesn't recognize it. It try's to make ice and then it stops and tells you to add more water and you have a side tank and it is totally full and the inside the water has gone down due to the fact that it tried to make ice, so you add a little more water into the machine and it try to make ice and then stops and tells you to add more water and it is all due to the filter, I took it out and I have not had any problems making ice sense. I only use Filtered water, so we decide not to use the filter anymore. There is no true instructions for this machine. No clear trouble shooting help in the book and everything I found on the internet was not that much helpful either to figure this out. When ice melts it makes a lot of water in the bottom of the bin and doesn't drain out very well, all I have seen water in between the walls of the bin after its been washed and it seam like when I wipe down the front part under were the bin is it seams that the water keeps popping back up, so I'm not sure if water could be leaking down into the front of the machine from that area when it gets wet from the bin hanging down when you get the ice out because of all the melted ice that turned into water. Don't use the filter is a problem and the machine doesn't recognize it after you do the first true cleaning and put it back into the machine, so it is worthy.

It makes ice but keep your expectations low

It makes nugget ice yes but definitely not a luxury appliance given the price. It does not come with a cleaning kit, descaling kit nor water filter. The app is pretty much only for scheduling it but it doesn't really integrate with Alexa as well as you would hope. The ice bin isn't really designed to be submerged to be clean since water will get trapped between panels for a couple of days and no way to release it.

Frustrated with “add water” message and no ice!

After six months of operation it stopped making ice. The message “add water” lights up and will not go off regardless of how much water is added. It will not run the cleaning cycle. I have cleaned and descaled the ice maker every time that was called for. There is nothing about this issue in the manual or easily located online. I'll try to reach someone in the service department tomorrow (Monday). While it worked it made great ice. My only complaint before now was the frequency of needed cleaning and/or descaling.

Broke after 6 months

I'm only giving it 3 stars because it worked great while it worked. We cleaned it regularly and made sure proper filters were installed. It only lasted us about 6 months before it fell apart from the inside out. I feel like it was put together by a 5 year old. I'm still trying to get a replacement but it's difficult to get ahold of the right person. I'll keep my fingers crossed that we didn't just throw away several hundred dollars.

Just buy the machine!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My family and I have enjoyed the ice maker. Even when our friends and family come over they want ice in their drinks! The ice maker is constantly making ice, it's a quiet machine, installation was quick and had easy to read instructions. I recommend everyone to have in their home.

Lovely product. When it works.

It's lovely. When it works. I owned this beauty of a machine for a week before the trouble started. “ADD WATER” appeared when the ice maker had plenty of water. Sometimes I could reset the message and restart the ice-making stage by opening and closing the ice bin, power cycling the machine using the power button or unplugging it and plugging it back in, running a cleaning cycle, and cleaning the sensors. it was inconsistent on what would make it work again. It even turned off (shown on the app and ice was melting) but all indicator lights on the front unit remained lit. I want to say more but apparently reviews are moderated and some comments are not allowed. Purchased 1-27-2021.

Been waiting my whole life for this!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since I found out it was possible to have a legit nugget ice maker in my home, I have longed for one. Finally 2025 was the year! It was a bit heavier than I expected. But I was still able to maneuver it into the house. The box opens around the bottom like a TV or other large appliance. I'm glad that I read the instructions and watched some YouTube videos about how everything worked and the cleaning process. I'm a bit disappointed at how often It's recommended that I clean it and don't know why they don't have a better system than popping the two tubes out and back into the plastic piece to drain it. Seems chinczy for such an expensive item. I would expect a nice quick disconnect drain hose with an on/off valve. The website said it didn't come with the filter so I ordered one. There was one in the box so I thought that was the one I ordered. But then another on showed up two weeks later? No complaints as the filters are quite expensive. I'm not a fan of pouring bleach into something that I intend to eat/drink out of. So I used vinegar as it cleans and descales and isn't poison. Hopefully that will be OK. I love the ice. It's just like Chick-fil-a. It makes it quick, it stays for several hours in the tray. then recycles the water as it melts back into the reservoir for reuse. I don't like having to take out the ice drawer to refill the reservoir, but that's better than if it was top fill, because the Opal barely fits under my cabinet. The reservoir seems to hold enough water to fill the drawer twice. I didn't get the external tank. I'm the only person who craves it in my home. So the internal reservoir is adequate. Be aware that it needs space to breath on the sides and I'm glad that I bought the quietist one, because we can still hear the fans and such a little bit in our living room. It's not as loud as our dishwasher. The phone app works great. I wish that the button labels on the front were legible at all. It takes a bright flashlight at just the right angle to see them. That's really stupid. If text is so offensive to the aesthetic, just put icons or something. But make them readable. Otherwise the buttons are worthless. I still don't understand why GE hasn't come out with a fridge that makes nugget ice. I just replaced all of our appliances and would have absolutely bought the opal model if one was available.

Loving my best Investment!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this nugget ice maker in September 2025 and it's now October 2025 and I still Love ❤️ my ice maker. I live in Texas hard water we definitely have,so I only use distilled water in my ice maker, I still follow all cleaning instructions the same, it's so quiet sometimes I forget I'm making ice and it's on all day or night. Now I leave the light on to remind me I'm making ice 🧊. You can hear the ice drop when it starts to produce because there's nothing in it yet, but once it starts to fill you don't really hear it. It holds so much ice in one sitting and if you leave it on and the bin is full it will keep your ice and fill your cup right from it. Mine is in black stainless, it's Sooo pretty!I love this nugget ice maker 😍 I give it 5 🌟 's
