We bought this based on reviews and how much ice it could make. We were drawn to the self clean feature and good overall looks of the unit. 1st off it has great ice and everyone who comes over loves it. It has some nice features such as the ability to set use times which is very convenient. The only downside to this unit is the squeaking noise that sounds like a dead donkey that it makes abut 3-4 times a day. Very annoying and embarrassing when people are over. It seems this is an issue with a lot of others as well. We have been using it for about 4 months and I think I would buy it again if the noise would go away for good. Love the ice hate the noise.

Our unit is for a weekend lake home. So on for 2-3 days then sits idle for a week or two. Draining unit isn’t easy. At each start up I run through the bleach water mix and rinse. Don’t want any bacteria issues. We'll see how it goes for the summer. Only in use for a month. Ice production is good so far. No noise issues that I’ve read in other reviews, but ours is in a laundry room away from living area.

I love this machine and can’t believe I have been missing out for years on this! I highly recommend! I can set it up on a schedule so I always have ice in the morning for iced coffee or when I get off work for drinks and I don’t have to leave it running constantly!

We love the ice, hate the noise level at certain time. It gets so loud we have to unplug the unit for it to quit. Would recommend the water tank add on. We clean it weekly and turn it off at various times so it is not running 24/7 and this appears to help with the noise.

We have had this ice maker for less than 5 months. We love it when it is working, but it has quite making ice. I have reached out to customer service who contacted me within 24 hours, but has since gone silent. I would love to get it back up and running again. Until it is resolved I will give it 2 stars.

I am astonished at the volume and quality of the ice that this puppy makes! It’s not for a person who just wants to plug and play— my guess is that the nugget ice machine isn’t there yet, at least not the home version at a reasonable price. This guy needs frequently filled manually, and regularly sanitized and descaled. But great ice requires a great commitment and this bad boy is worth it!

Have only had this product up and running for About a week now, but the quality of the ice is absolutely amazing and as close to sonic ice as you could get. It is also very quick at making ice so you can guarantee that you will have a Cup full of ice in no time

Not only does this appliance look great, it works great as well. This makes the perfect ice to satisfy all your drinking needs. It's easy to use and install. Comes with an excellent user guide, which provides good clear instructions for everything. It's quite attractive with the clear plastic and brushed stainless steel, it fits right in with all my other appliances. It's much quieter than expected with just barely an audible hum during operation. This is a rather large (and heavy) ice maker but it fit perfectly fine underneath my cabinets. This unit is not refrigerated, so as ice collects into the bin it will slowly melt, however the water gets recycled back into the machine and will be reused to make more ice. My only complaint is how long it takes to complete an ice making cycle, it takes literally hours for it to fill the bin with ice. Not a big issue but you definitely need to plan ahead if you're going to need ice, however if you dump the ice into a bag occasionally and freeze it you'll always have ice on-hand.

It kept getting air bubbles in the line and would say clean but no matter how much you cleaned it it wouldn’t work properly. Also, if you don’t use it all the time it quickly develops mold in the lines which is a pain the butt. I expected it to be like the fridge and use as needed and flawless but it was far from that. Would not recommend

The instructions to install are super lengthy and not extremely clear. I typically like to follow instructions for items like this so I’m less likely to have issues later. Also the app doesn’t seem to be working, I’ve attempted to reset my GE password 4 times each time saying it was successful but still unable to login to the app. I know my password is correct as I am able to login to the GE website with each new password.
