I have cleaned and descaled per instructions and this last time when descaling it went to add water during the cleaning cycle. It is not running vinegar through the ice maker. The pump is working the water line must be plugged. Looks like the cleaning process does not go through all the water lines and letting the vinegar set in the lines for 18 hours is not enough to descale. Ice maker no longer works and needs repaired. What is your return or repair policy?

Absolutely love it!! People often speak about the noise. After about two days, I was adjusted and don’t pay any attention to it. It’s no different than an ice maker in a refrigerator. The reservoir and container hold quite a bit of water so you are not constantly refilling. The ice is wonderful. I wish I had purchased years ago.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our second Opal ice maker, this version is much quiter and fiils the ice nearly twice as fast. The side tank is a godsend and the unit is very easy to clean. The only problem is that when someone fills a glass, the dog wants to munch some too.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The ice maker made good ice which made me drink more liquids which was the goal. It’s heavy and the cleaning and emptying the tanks was very difficult. The unit quit working (drawing water) so that was bad. Then recently it started to make a very loud squealing noise, the main and side tank were full of water. So looked at the trouble shooting in the directions no help.

I prefer the features that’s from the updated model. However the taste of chemicals/plastic was so strong in the ice it took over a week of running it to be useable and only after countless bins of ice, fresh water and cleaning vinegar running through the machine. Now that it’s worn off it’s much better at keeping ice made than the last model and there hasn’t been any other issues yet.

Often says needs water but there is a full side tank and water in reservoir. Poor upgrades that don’t work well, software updates needed and machine is loud from many days of lack of water.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since I found out it was possible to have a legit nugget ice maker in my home, I have longed for one. Finally 2025 was the year! It was a bit heavier than I expected. But I was still able to maneuver it into the house. The box opens around the bottom like a TV or other large appliance. I'm glad that I read the instructions and watched some YouTube videos about how everything worked and the cleaning process. I'm a bit disappointed at how often It's recommended that I clean it and don't know why they don't have a better system than popping the two tubes out and back into the plastic piece to drain it. Seems chinczy for such an expensive item. I would expect a nice quick disconnect drain hose with an on/off valve. The website said it didn't come with the filter so I ordered one. There was one in the box so I thought that was the one I ordered. But then another on showed up two weeks later? No complaints as the filters are quite expensive. I'm not a fan of pouring bleach into something that I intend to eat/drink out of. So I used vinegar as it cleans and descales and isn't poison. Hopefully that will be OK. I love the ice. It's just like Chick-fil-a. It makes it quick, it stays for several hours in the tray. then recycles the water as it melts back into the reservoir for reuse. I don't like having to take out the ice drawer to refill the reservoir, but that's better than if it was top fill, because the Opal barely fits under my cabinet. The reservoir seems to hold enough water to fill the drawer twice. I didn't get the external tank. I'm the only person who craves it in my home. So the internal reservoir is adequate. Be aware that it needs space to breath on the sides and I'm glad that I bought the quietist one, because we can still hear the fans and such a little bit in our living room. It's not as loud as our dishwasher. The phone app works great. I wish that the button labels on the front were legible at all. It takes a bright flashlight at just the right angle to see them. That's really stupid. If text is so offensive to the aesthetic, just put icons or something. But make them readable. Otherwise the buttons are worthless. I still don't understand why GE hasn't come out with a fridge that makes nugget ice. I just replaced all of our appliances and would have absolutely bought the opal model if one was available.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It makes great ice, but we are on our third ge profile opal.The first one lasted about 2 yrs, longer enough for the warranty to be out. The second one just over 6 months and it took a couple of months to get the warranty replacement after jumping thru hoops for several different case workers.Do this do that, try this, download this software now repeat all previous actions. Then get handed over to their supervisor to start over. Now the replacement is not working as it should and it is 3 months old, not pulling water from the side tank. Its cleaned every two weeks on schedule.

Aesthetically, this ice maker is gorgeous. It does take up some counter space but it’s so pretty sitting there. It’s not nearly as loud as some people reviewed. Maybe the 2.0 fixed the loud issues. It makes ice so quickly and the little nuggets are so nice to crunch on!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We love the ease of setup, convenience of use and size of the ice cubes. The only con I’ve found is how often the cleaning reminder comes on. We’re using soft filtered water and it seems at least once a month the cleaning reminder flashes.
