This is such a nice appliance. Yes it is defiantly a niche product, but the the quality and taste of the ice if you buy the filter is amazing. We use our fridges filtered water pitcher to fill the side tank, then it gets filtered yet again by the ice machine. Crunchy, cool, and refreshing. 10/10 would recommend

We purchased it on Nov 8,2023. It’s beautiful, fits nicely on our counter, easy to set up & makes a lot of great ice. We installed a whole house water softening system before we purchased so we don’t have any scale build up to contend with & the ice is delicious! I give 4 stars because it makes some pretty loud creaky squeaky noises that happen 6 or 7 times during the ice making process. I may exchange it for a new one & try again. :)

So... Our journey with the ol' XPIO13SCSS had a very rough start. We set it up and it happily provided us with ice for the day. Then, seemingly in protest, it stopped. We added little Olaf and Vanilla Ice signs to give it some encouragement, but nothing would make it show up to work like the rest of us. Finally, we added some matching here/out of office signs to really make it part of the team. At that point, we also downloaded the app and hooked it up to the internet. We set a schedule just like the rest of us, it ran an update and smooth sailing. It makes ice while we're here and goes to sleep when we're not. It's much happier and drinks are much colder. So... Give it a schedule and it will be much happier, and so will you.

This is the best ice ever! Nothing like having this nugget ice to light up your drink of choice! This machine works great! We’ve had it for about a month now and we are so glad we made this purchase. We don’t use any other type of ice but this nugget ice. The GE OPAL Nugget Ice Maker is a very well built machine. We make sure we clean it once a week per recommendation from the manufacturer. When our kids come over to visit, they always ask for a bag of nugget ice to take home. They all love it as much as we do! This is a great product, fits on our kitchen counter perfectly.

So far, this unit has worked flawlessly. It’s been about a month and we’ve never turned it off. It gets continuously used and we have yet to run low on ice because it makes it faster than we need. It’s amazing how fast it makes the ice. Fairly easy setup too. Recommend!

We absolutely love the ice this makes. It is simple to use, simple to clean, and produces enough ice for the day. The only bad part about this: The ice bin does not have a cooler feature. It allows the ice to melt and recycles the water to make more ice. So, essentially, if you don’t keep using it to make fresh ice or 2 people fill up big cups with ice, the second person gets partially melted, wet ice which in turn, melts faster in the drink and waters it down. I would like to see an upgraded bin that is insulated to keep the ice longer before melt. It’s a little pricy but the ice maker performs well, looks stunning, and makes great tasting ice all day and night.

It was a decision months in the making due to a bad refrigerator ice maker. I finally decided to make the investment and I'm so glad I did. With the separate tank, easy to fill, it's awesome. Along with the app, set your own ice-making schedule... What a pleasure to have as much ice as I want whenever I want it. Great sized cubes... crunchy and small. The ice does melt when the unit is off, but the water gets refrozen once the unit is turned on. It's easy to use and looks nice. It does have a mild hum, so it's definitely not silent, but the volume is not a nuisance.

Perfect modern design! We decided to upgrade from our old ice maker and could not be happier with the decision! The modern design goes perfectly with our newly upgraded kitchen. The ice bin capacity lasts when hosting guests, you can barely hear the unit when ice is being made and the cleaning/draining functionality is very user friendly!

We were so tired of the ice maker on our refrigerator getting jammed and needing repair so we bought this ice maker. We love the ice that it makes and it is was cheaper than one call to the appliance repair man. Great quality, easy to use, and economical for the amount of use it gets.

This machine although it is a little loud will make all the ice you need. We had a margarita night at our house and really put this thing to the test emptying it several times and it just kept chugging away making ice. Very good looking machine. Not a lot of water draining for us.
