I ordered the Opal Ice Maker in May/June. 10 minutes after starting the ice making process the machine began to make this loud noise. It makes the noise for as long as it is performing the ice making function. The noise was tolerable in the beginning but now i can only set the ice making function for when I’m not home. I love the machine but could really do without the, as my daughter calls it, the jackhammer noise. I never complained because i feel it would have been more of a hassle to return the product since it was shipped to my home and not purchased at a brick and mortar. But now the noise is just unbearable.

My family and I go through ice fairly quickly, so to find out about this icemaker, was a godsend! We have an icemaker on our fridge and we even purchased ice trays.....we still ran out of ice before the day ended. I was watching a "Tik Tok Made Me Buy It" video and stumbled across this gem! It starts making ice within 20 minutes of set up and as long as you keep the reservoir full, it'll make ice all day! There is one caveat, we have to clean it every week. I would love to have an icemaker that I can clean once a month, so that it could be done when I clean my fridge. :-)

If you have ever thought about getting this…. Just do it! I put it off for 6 months and finally bought one. I can’t say enough good stuff about this. The ice is wonderful and holds in my yeti cup for hours. If you do purchase this I highly recommend the side tank. It makes life so much easier. The WiFi feature is so wonderful. I set it for dinner and we have a bin full of ice ready to go. Don’t hesitate if you have ever thought about getting one of these. I wish I would have bought it sooner than I did! Cleaning is so easy and the filters do last.

I love ice!!! And the nuggets are so satisfying to chew on. I would make my husband and daughter pick up bags of ice every 2-3 days, and it would take up so much freezer space. I must say I’m so glad I got this bundle of joy.!!! Only thing I wish I did was purchase the one that has a tank on the side but it’s a bite much having to pull the whole tray out just to refill the tank with water. But I’m still satisfied. It doesn’t take long at all to fill up the tray with ice at all.

Setup was a breeze. It lets you know when it is making ice and when it requires additional water, which is a very easy process. The ice capacity in the core machine is great and the side attachment gives you even more capacity. Ice for days!

For a home ice maker this is probably the best one I’ve seen and owned. Me and my wife love having the good ice available whenever we want it. The machine looks good and appears well built. Having the side water tank is super convenient, worth the extra money, and keeps us from having to refill it every day. I didn’t give it a perfect score as there are a few things that could use improvement but overall I love the machine. My first complaint is it’s a little loud when making ice. Second I wish the ice container was bigger. Third clearing the cleaning alert is very annoying and cumbersome. Forth I wish there was a slot or better place to store the scoop. The scoop itself could be better made, maybe metal instead of plastic. And last the tray on the front is just a flimsy piece of plastic that constantly has visible sitting water in it. Having a tray similar to what you would see on a Keurig would be better so the water has some where to go and isn’t visible. A lot of these a nick picky but these are just my thoughts and what I’d like to see changed.

I’m a self-described pebble ice aficionado, and the ice produced by this machine is just as good as Sonic or Chick-Fil-A’s. I’m so happy to finally have the good ice anytime I want it. The machine is quiet and well-designed, and even though the ice bin isn’t refrigerated, the ice stays good in it for several hours without melting or clumping too much. This was a bit of an indulgent investment for me, but I’m so happy with it. I held off buying one of these because reviews for the first version were iffy, but the 2.0 has been great so far. As long as it lasts a long time without breaking down, I would rate it 10 stars if I could.

Hook is a breeze when you follow directions haha. Super easy to hook up. Produces ice fast. Has WiFi which gives you the ability to turn it off when you are away from the house for a long period of time. If you are using an iPhone, you can access the Wi-Fi settings for the app by logging into the appliance through your phone: Settings—-> Wi-Fi——> Wi-Fi should load appliance, click the appliance—->> now you’re connected to your appliance, go back to the SnartHQ app! Really wish they would honor a extended warranty on these guys

If you enjoy crunching on that special ice and wished you could get it at home then here it is! I purchased this for me and my family and we simply can't stay out of it. It's worth every penny. So, if you are teetering on the fence with this purchase like I was then I suggest that you just go for it. You will not be disappointed!

We love the ice but it is very noise sounds like loose parts internal that are vibrating during ice making cycle. When it first starts to make ice it flushes the system with water but the water drains into the ice hopper melting the already made ice down rather quickly against the back of the hopper. Since the hopper is not refrigerated all the ice you can have matters .
