Apple is very successful not because of what they make (iPhone, etc.) or even how they make them, but rather as to "why" they make them. Their goal is to change people's ways as to why they do what they do. Now, GE has caught on and realize there is a niche of people that really, really like soft ice. We may not even be sure as to why we like soft ice (the good ice), but we just know we like it. This remarkable countertop ice maker is never seen as a "clutter" on my countertop, but rather a treasure that we dip into throughout the day. We make the softest "crunch, crunch, crunch" sounds in the world when we chew ice and we love it!!! Thank you GE for fulfilling our why.

Soft chewy ice perfect for cocktails and everyday drinks. Fast. Quiet. Easy to set up. Love it! The ice keeps well in a plastic bag in the freezer so you can make several batches, freeze it for later and then turn the machine off. I run mine once or twice a week and have plenty of ice.

Best buy ever. Great for my iced coffee's. Makes the best ice and the pups love it too. Easy to use and clean, set up was easy also. Love the app feature where you can turn it off and on from your phone. Tells you when it needs cleaned and when more water is needed. Very happy with my purchase

Once the machine has cycled through the water cycle for the first few minutes the ice starts coming out quickly. Impressed with the amount of ice made in the first few hours. Ice us just like Bob's Big Boy and Sonic ice! We got the machine with the side tank and it is so much easier to fill.

We've had 4 countertop icemakers over the past 4-5 years. They've all been disappointing as they had sporadic problem and eventually failed. Luckily, we had the extended warranty and they were replaced or our $$ was refunded. THIS GE however, has been a pleasant surprise! It makes ice at a pretty good pace, it's quiet and the side tank is a GREAT feature! You can easily see when it needs water and it's a snap to add! Once in a while it does "squeal" for a minute when it's drawing water from the tak, but that's very brief. Overall, this has been a great machine so far and I'd definitely buy it again!

I was skeptical at first but once this is up and running it makes ton ice. We use distilled water to keep minerals from building up. There has been a couple times it made few weird noises but it went away and the machine works great. We leave it on all day very day.

After 3 months Needs water light comes on when tank and side tank are full. I've unplugged it and replug it and sometimes it started working for a few days then need water light comes back on. It defective and you won't do anything about it. For what I paid for this it should have lasted longer than this. I won't buy another GE product again.

I bought this product to help me increase my water intake while reducing my single use water bottle purchase. This has definitely helped as I am always guaranteed a chilled beverage no matter the type of drink. I absolutely love this and it has exceeded my expectations.

This machine makes great ice, but at the cost of your hearing (and sanity). machine started defrosting on the 1st cycle and says needs cleaning every other cycle, even though we use purified / distilled water. Btw, when the ice machine starts howling, better run. And don't unplug it as you'll lose the wifi setup and re-connection is a pain.

The ice maker came quickly, was easy to disinfect and set up. Connecting the WiFi was very easy which lets me control when I want to have ice made. It is reasonably quiet and looks sharp on the counter top. This does not have a freezer to store the ice like a refrigerator ice maker, but most counter icemakers don't. The unused ice will melt back into the reservoir and be used to make ice once again when you are ready. I recommend this product if you want an appliance that makes quality ice head and shoulders above a fridge ice maker. Plus this is the good nugget style ice. Amazing stuff!
