Just got my new Opal ice machine installed and it’s kicking out ice within 20 minutes of the install. Ice is just perfect for that crunch monster inside me!! It’s going to be a great asset to my kitchen. Thanks GE for a great appliance. Been waiting on a good ice machine for a while!!

We love the ice from this machine. It is the best ice. It keeps up fairly good with four people in the house. Problem is, even with regular cleaning, it seems to break down a lot in different ways. We are on our fourth machine. But we keep pushing through because we love the ice. I would love to give it five stars, but I just can’t.

It's great at making ice. However, for such a high price tag, it should also refrigerate the ice. It's inconvenient to have to move the ice to the freezer as it starts to melt. For this reason, I returned mine. Hopefully, the next version can refrigerate the ice, I could but it again.

My husband loves the ice from this machine but I absolutely hate this machine. If you use it daily 1) it cycles each time you get ice 2) it’s loud and 3) you have to clean it every two weeks. The cleanings take about an hour because of the repeated rinsing to make sure there’s no remaining bleach. A few days before the “cleaning” light comes on, the machine makes a loud grinding noise throughout the day. The noise stops after the cleaning but returns about two weeks later. I do not recommend this product if you want to use it daily.

Something to expensive should not stop working after just 6 months. We’ve done everything we are supposed to, regarding cleaning and using distilled water . The ice maker only makes half of the ice it used to and Keeps defrosting every hour. Very frustrating. Now they are sending me a “refurbished” unit. Even though mine is practically brand new. I’m not happy.

My wife has always loved the "Sonic Ice" and we would buy bags of it wherever we could find it. So happy to have the ability to easily make this ice at home. The Opal 2.0 was super easy to set up and makes ice very quickly for our family. The ability to recycle the water when the ice melts in the container was a huge benefit over the competitive products I researched. So far, we are very happy. We did buy the optional water filter online after we purchased the ice maker. Water filter was very easy to install and makes the ice taste more "clean." We are super happy with the purchase.

This makes delicious ice! I set up a schedule on my phone app for ice and I can also activate the machine from across town with the same app. This is good because it takes about 30 mins to really start cranking out ice. The machine is not very loud at all. I only use distilled water to prevent hard water buildup. I also run the cleaning cycle weekly. The ice is fantastic and just like Sonic, but not perfectly round. Kind of barrel shaped. This machine is expensive, but my family gets a ton of use out of it. My kids love to just chew on the ice. Very easy to set up, use and maintain. A great purchase.

Love this ice maker. It is super cute, produces alo of ice very quickly. The bin holds quite a bit of ice and it doesn't melt as quickly as he cheaper ice makers I have just used. It is quiet and you rarely hear it making ice. The side tank and convenient too, you don't have to keep removng the ice storage to pour water into it! I love the side tank. If you are on the fence about getting the side tank, do it you will not be disappointed. Wished I would not have wasted my money on the cheap version of nugget ice makers, the money I spent on those I should have just bought this one the first time around.

Quite simply, this is the ice machine I've been waiting for. The ice is perfect! Set up is easy, including cleaning. The wireless app took a little tweaking, but once done it works perfectly. I start the ice making process before I leave work and by the time I get home, I have freshly made ice waiting. This machine is perhaps the best money I've spent in a long time!!

This is an awful product. I’ve had it just over a month. It makes this horrible screeching noise and it stays in defrost mode. It makes very little batches of ice. I’ve tried to reset it by unplugging and leaving off for a while. It still does the same thing.
