I purchased 2 of these units January 2025. One for kitchen and one for downstairs of my home. If you YouTube this item, you'll undoubtedly see everyone has to deal with the squealing noise after only a few months. The ice is great, but the squealing noise is unbearable and even when you WD-40 - the squealing comes back over and over. If GE ever finds a long-term fix here, I'd jump on it - but I'm not sure this purchase was worth it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great at making ice but if you install the GE water filter it does not like to make ice. It acts like it is plugged up regardless or what you do. I have purchased two filters from different places and followed the instructions meticulously. Each works for about a day then the ice maker says it needs water. It is easy to install. Be careful about noting which line goes into the external tank. The ice is fantastic both size and texture. The capacity is sufficient. It occasionally squeals but that usually lets you know it is about time for a cleaning.

We originally bought a much cheaper Frigidaire nugget ice maker. It was horrible. SO loud, and within about a month it up and died. Decided to shell out the extra money for this GE machine, one we had limited experience with before, and it was the right call! Operates much quieter, is very efficient, and we’ve had and used it heavily for almost five months without any issue. Setup was difficult, however. For some reason we couldn’t just connect the tubes and start making ice. The pump needed to be primed, and there are no useful instructions on how to do that. Found a YouTube video that didn’t help but at least gave some pointers, and figured it out from there. Added several extra hours to setup time though!

Perfect size for us and at the right price, GE is always a reputable product. We can't wait to enjoy all our iced beverages, the team is really thrilled!

This particular model has a glitch according to GE. The cleaning button blinks constantly, even after a clean was performed. I had to reach out to GE and was informed that the fix for the glitch is being worked on but they have no timeframe as to when it will be done. This machine is too expensive to not work properly. I am returning it for a refund. Save yourself some money, don’t buy it.

I ran a cleaning cycle several times, the issue remained. For the cost I am not going to wonder if it will make ice or not every day, so it was returned.

My wife and I were a little thrown off by the price but decided to purchase it for Mother’s Day. I never realize we used so much ice. It takes about 20 mins to get started but once it gets going, it’s non stop. The ice is perfect for drinks, coffee, water or just to snack on. My kids will finally drink water (with ice), just to be able to crunch on the ice after they are done drinking it. My wife absolutely loves it and I would recommend to any buyer out there. I know it’s a lot of money, but it’s well worth it.

We purchased the GE 2.0 ice maker 2 years ago. The last 6 months it has had all kinds of issues. It produces very little ice, 20 cubes or less an hour, and constantly says defrosting or cleaning. We have cleaned and maintained it as recommended but this has been a huge waste of money.

The ice maker is constantly making ice, it’s a quiet machine, installation was quick and had easy to read instructions. I recommend everyone to have in their home.
