This was a Christmas gift for my wife because she would have me go to the store to get a cup of the “good ice” often. We are both happy with our new GE Profile Opal 2.0 Ice-Maker with extra Easy-Fill Water Tank . Definitely recommend the water tank. We now don't need to waste fuel or time driving to the store for nugget ice. It was easy to set up. You can hear it running in our small kitchen however it's not annoyingly loud just a gentle hum. We purchased the water filter too which is a nice option feature. Have been using it constantly for a month now without any issues. When setting it up just follow the instructions. We live in an area with hard water so we follow the descaling recommendation of every 2-3 weeks. Working virtually from home I find that I am drinking more water more often with the good ice even though it's winter here because it's so much more refreshing with this ice. This unit is on the expensive side however it's been a good investment so far. We've had a few parties and our guests enjoy the ice too. More time is needed to know how durable it will be. After a year it would be good to give another review.

Love my Opal. Setup was easy and fairly quick. It makes ice quickly and the hopper will keep ice frozen for a long time. Connecting to wifi and making a schedule is the best part. I set a schedule to have ice ready for dinner time. My only small quibble would be the noise the machine makes when running a little louder than I was expecting but it still is not objectionable.

We've had our ice maker for a few weeks now, and we love it so far. Makes plenty of ice for us every day, and love that it's easy to clean. It does take up a bit of counter space, but it's so worth it. The nugget ice is perfect, and just like that popular fast food chain ice!

I have had my ice maker for almost a month and so far I am LOVING it. I had read a ton of reviews all over the internet before making my purchase and they made me a little wary but I am SO glad I decided to purchase it. My husband was going to Sonic every week to buy me 2 bags of ice so while this ice maker was not a necessity, it was something I have been wanting for years. The packaging was incredibly sturdy and my machine was in perfect condition. The set up took less than 30 minutes total and in about an hour I had a huge cup of chewy, crunchy ice. I have to fill up the side tank at least once a day because we use a lot of ice but it is so simple to do it's not a problem. I was also worried about the noise the machine would make since several people mentioned it but it is not loud AT ALL. I keep it literally 6 feet away from my desk in my home office and I don't even hear it most of the time. When it's running making ice, there IS noise but it's a low hum and the sound of lovely nugget ice dropping into the bin. I have done the cleaning cycle once so far using 5 cups of water and 1 teaspoon of bleach. It was really quick and easy to do and there was no trace of bleach taste which I was worried about. I downloaded the app and it was very easy to use. It allowed me to set my machine to turn off at 10pm and turn back on at 7am so I always wake up with a full bin of ice. I have zero complaints about my ice maker so far. I did purchase an extended 3 year warranty just in case but I just LOVE this ice machine and I can 100% recommend it for anyone who is on the fence.

Awesome Ice machine! The pellets are exactly like Sonic/hospital ice. It comes out dry and semi soft. Also, good for sprained ankles and margaritas. The extra water tank is well thought out and really convenient to fill and reload.. The downside is...if it breaks I have no choice but to fix it or buy another, no way I can go back to regular ice.

We have 7 kids and 4 adults who all love ice! Out poor refrigerator could not keep up and during the summer months we would go through 10-15 pounds of store bought ice. we enjoy how fast it produces ice, the storage capacity, the ability to create a schedule, and the cube style!

I had this icemaker and within the first 10 days, it made horrible sounds, wise than the expected whaling I read about. Keep in mind that I used only distilled water and purchased the opal filter. It would turn itself off after making a terrible noise like grinding chains. It was pretty, but could never get a full basket of ice.

If anyone is considering picking up their own nugget ice machine all I can say is don't waste your time with other brands. I love my GE Opal and I will not be consuming ice any other way while I am home. My only complaint would be this MSRP but if you can catch the Opal on sale 10/10 I would tell a stranger to purchase it!

This was the BEST addition to our new kitchen remodel. Bought it for my husband as a Christmas gift. It is sleek and an eye catcher. The set up was so easy. Much quieter than I read on online reviews. Ice is spectacular. A great addition to any kitchen and home bar.

This machine works amazing, it produces a lot of ice and the water reserve holds a good amount of water so you don't have to constantly fill it. You should check cabinet height if you plan on putting it under a cabinet, it's pretty tall and was really close to our upper cabinets
