We have loved our GE nugget ice maker so far. We have had it for about a month, and it works great. It's easy to clean, and to be able to drain the water after cleaning it. I love that it can light up, so you can see in there, if you need to get ice when the kitchen light is off. It makes the best chewable ice, that keeps your drinks so cold!

I’ve been eyeing the opal machines for a couple years, wanting to buy one but not wanting to pay the premium. Recently, refrigerator’s ice maker quit working. I tried to fix it, replacing the intake valve and filter, but was unsuccessful so I thought it would be great to have some of that chic-fil-a ice and bought the opal 2. So far, it’s been great. I set a schedule for it to turn on a couple hours before I wake up and an hour before I get home from work. I stock pile the leftovers in my broken ice maker’s bin and I always have ice. It was easy to set up, starts making ice in about 30 min and is full after about 2-1/2 hrs. It’s great for cocktails tea or sodas. I take a yeti cup full of it to work with me and have a few drinks worth of ice for the day. I’m really enjoying the machine. It was a little surprising how large it was, but I’m not sure really what I expected. I’m hopeful that it will last for years to come.

I love nugget ice, and this ice maker is exactly what I was looking for. The ice tastes great and has the perfect crunchiness without being too hard - just like nugget slice should be. The set up is easy, and I will definitely sanitize weekly to keep it running smoothly and cleanly.

My family loves this ice maker. We finished our basement and put in a wet bar, this was a must have. Very convenient having the app, can tell it to start making ice prior to needing it. You can set up schedules when it makes ice etc. It’s nice having the side water tank, it can make a lot of ice. My kids are drinking a lot more water, just because they like eating the ice. This thing is a hit! It has a cleaning mode and the app recommends when to clean. I’ve descaled it a few times just like I do my coffee makers. Nothing too difficult and there’s plenty YouTube videos.

I’ve read a lot of reviews for this ice maker and I’m here to tell you this is one of the best purchases I’ve done lately. I love crunch ice. It’s actually the motivator for me to drink more water. I hate drinking water, but add this ice and I’ll drink it no problem. I’ve heard reviews of it being loud. I haven’t had that experience at all. I’ve had no problems with it thus far. I did buy the extended warranty just to be safe. If you’re on the fence about spending a lot of money on this - I say do it. I don’t have any regrets!!

This is my third opal machine. I was given a replacement of my second machine and not even 10 months later it is already making the same loud obnoxious noise as the first machine. The ice is good when it’s actually working, but the noise is beyond obnoxious and loud, and I’ve had to just shut it off and not use it. I was told there is no repair for this which is very unfortunate considering how much I have paid for these machines. I was also told there is no warranty on the last one they sent me even though it hasn’t even even been a year, because I originally purchased my first one two years ago. This makes no sense considering we’re talking about a completely different newer ice machine!! No protection for the buyer

This is a great ice maker. We use it daily so the extra tank is helpful. Only downside is the ice doesn’t stay frozen. It melts and the water recycles. So the bottom ice is 1/2 melted and harder. So the best ice is on top. For the price it would have been nice if it kept the ice frozen. Don’t regret buying. Easy set up. Fits easily on counter and is beautiful.

I love this thing I make my own iced coffees and redbulls at home and this ice is the cherry on top. Seriously best purchase no regrets. Only took one star because i have the older version so doesnt have the drip tray and scoop holder like the new upgrade version

This was a replacement ice maker for us from another manufacturer. This ice maker is SO much quieter and produces much better quality ice! My wife loves this type of ice for all of her drinks and it works great to put in ice packs for those occasional sore muscles.

When it works it is GREAT! However….I have had this unit for about 4.5 months and it quit working. Getting help has been difficult and getting a replacement has been almost impossible. This was a very expensive Christmas gift that should never give these kinds of problems this soon. My sister got one for me and one for her daughter…both had/have to be replaced. No reason for this.
