We absolutely love our ice maker! My husband and I each bought one for a Christmas surprise this year without the other knowing. It makes plenty of ice for our family of four who are all ice lovers. Easy to install and just a humming noise while making ice. The ice also stays well in a ziplock in the freezer. You will not regret this purchase!

I got this ice maker about 2 weeks ago after being tired of my refrigerator ice maker always freezing up. I am loving this! Makes delicious ice. I use the water from my RO system and the ice is great. Good production. I don’t find it loud. It’s just what I needed!!!

This ice maker is amazing!! The set up was so simple, although I was heartbroken to disinfect it before I had my first taste of my fancy ice! Be responsible, sanitize your machine first. The first ice really does pop out in 20 minutes, but it’s just a few pieces- give this bad boy an hour and you’ve got a full glass- a few hours and you’re good for a party! We hooked our machine up to the app, which was also super easy, and I set up a schedule for it to run. Now the machine turns on for me at 6 am and I’m ready for my first glass for frosty, crisp, ice water at 7:00. I run it until about 7 at night and then just take whatever is leftover in the bin and throw it in a plastic bag in the freezer to save for a rainy day, or another party. The price tag may be scary for some, but it’s worth it! Perfectly crunchy ice in your own kitchen? Priceless!

Made a full bin of fresh crunchy ice right out of the box. The Manuel was easy to follow and we had crunchy ice within 30 minutes out of the box. One of the absolute best purchases I have made recently. Well made and easy to follow directions. Thanx GE

My mom loves the ice it makes. Easy to use. Like the cleaning reminders. Was great having it set up to the wifi. Was able to start making ice before we got home. It was ready for use to have right after we walked in the door. Only thing is the side was dented bad in Shipping. So now the machine rattles a lot noise.

Nugget ice is a cruel mistress but Opal makes it possible to have everything you need right at home. No more late night trips to sonic, or running around town looking for the beloved ice. I had the original but she quit on me, it was due to my own misgivings. The harsh water of central California could be to blame as well, but I could have tried harder. I swore when I replaced her with 2.0 that I would do everything I could to ensure a long life. Just ordered a five pack of filters and cleaning kits and the distilled water is on the way. Nugget ice is important in our house to restore peace and good function. Opal make that possible. Just treat her good and you'll hear the low hum of her pump from across the house like clock-work.Or you can even set a schedule using the app, as well as check on what stage of ice making shes in. 10 out of 10. The Opal 2.0 is a real investment—a bit expensive, somewhat heavy, and requiring frequent cleaning—but we think it’s completely worth it! GE is telling the truth when they say, “This is the good ice!” The whole family loves the soft, crunchable ice nuggets—as do our guests. We highly recommend the 2.0 model—quieter, easier to use, and seems more reliable.

Easy to set up. Great phone app to program when to start making ice before you get home from work and when to turn off. Perfect ice nuggets that are chewable. Makes a lot of ice in a short amount of time. Kept up with our party of 25 people. Are family all enjoys this ice machine. Fits perfectly on a standard depth countertop and under the upper wall cabinets as long as you have a min of 17"of height space. Matches our Black Stainless appliances very nice.

The ice this GE Profile ice maker makes is fantastic. I'm impressed with the speed in making new ice, and how good it is at preventing the ice from melting. The problems though is that it will sometimes say "add water" but the side tank is completely full. I can't figure out why sometimes it draws the side tank water just fine and why other times it doesn't. It also occasionally makes an awful noise that requires me unplugging and re-plugging it from. Power to make it stop. I also don't understand why that would fix the noise for a time. It seems to happen every three days. Not the most positive review. The ice is great, but I don't think the price is worth the flaws this guy comes with.

I purchased this machine for our teachers and faculty for teachers appreciation week. Decided to give it to them early, so we can enjoy it the rest of the school year. They absolutely love it. Sonic ice is the best. I would definitely recommend this product.
